They do seem to pass a LOT of voter ID laws in red states-that seems to lend credence to the theory that it’s done to suppress voters. However, you’re right-having an ID should not be that hard.

IDs should be required in all elections everywhere. It’s just common sense. Voter fraud happens in every single election to some extent. The only plausible reason for anyone to be against voter ID requirements is that they want fraudulent voting. Anyone can get an ID and probably 95% already have it. The rules are the same for everyone. It seems like some people think black Americans aren’t capable of simple tasks like obtaining a damned ID. I’d be pissed if I happened to be black. That thought is demeaning.

That's a perfect description for you and your little message board boyfriends weird relationship. Yall prolly cuddle on the American flag because you're "patriots".
You can go ahead and come all the way out of the closet, Thong Boy. You don’t have to just talk about it. Your mommy will understand.

I tried to get one of the new Real IDs or whatever it’s called. I had to book an appointment at my DMV. When I tried to book it, the earliest available appointment was several months out. I just said screw it, I’ll just keep what I have. I never fly anymore anyways.

It’s hard to imagine anything more paternalistic, more demeaning, than to pretend that non-white people are too helpless to procure ID. It’s inherently racist.

We deserve fair elections.

100%! But that‘s how the Dem party has operated since the Johnson administration. They’ve convinced all minority groups that they can’t do anything on their own and that they can’t make it without government making all decisions for them and taking care of them. They‘ve convinced most of them that they’re victims of, well, everything. It’s a demeaning and racist agenda, but most have bought into it. The Dem party knew what it was doing. Break up minority families, get everyone on government assistance, give them just enough to become totally dependent on it, and then they have to continue voting Dem because they’re told they have to or the mean old Republicans will take everything away from them. It’s deplorable, but it has worked for the Dem party. Unfortunately.

Voter ID laws arent racist. Libs assume blacks can't have IDs, as if they're too poor and feeble to have them, when in reality they have them just like we do. Its more liberal nonsense with them being racist and not even realizing their own hypocrisy.

Go ask someone you know if they have one. How do your black coworkers possibly manage to make it to work?!?!? What a joke. It should be offensive to suggest they don't have them, yet here we are in 2021 clown world.

Well it doesn't require an ID to use public transportation or something like Uber to get to work.

Yes, in my history classes. Both in the past and no longer in force today. So do you have modern examples? I’m all for moaning and groaning about our past but sometimes it’s nice to see how our society has progressed.
Those who reference the past are just looking for a reason to keep hate alive since there are not very many examples today. Especially large scale unless it is the hate being spewed by the race baiters.

Not suppress but ensure voter legality. To suggest suppression is ridiculous since ID's are required for everyday use these days for life essentials as stated above.

lol at saying the War on Drugs is no longer in force.
Would you quit with this high school level reply please. I am trying to engage you in a legitimate discussion and give you the opportunity to change my mind. To do that you will need to provide proof. Primary sources with stats and data from a reputable source. I’m not just gonna go to your side cause you say “lol War on Drugs still on!”

that’s not going to cut it. And just to be clear, I don’t need a huge essay with quotes and such. I just want your argument and some solid sources proving what you say is true. After all, the burden of proof is on you to prove there is suppression of black votes. You have yet to do that.

The requirement of a valid ID isn’t a big ask. The requirement of the valid ID is an attempt to ensure all voters are legal citizens of the US. Any legal citizen can obtain one quite easily (albeit it is a long wait- usually 1-4 hours).

Many don't have the luxury of taking 4+ hours off work (have to factor in travel time as well), all hours that for many is unpaid, to go get a government issued ID. Same reason why a lot of people will show up to work with a contagious sickness, because they can't afford to lose the money. Or why they never take a vacation, because they can't afford to lose the money.

False. If they are working they will have to go somewhere to bank. ID required. The ID argument is a lame excuse many use to avoid a legal and easily monitored election. I can't believe you and many on the left are still using this argument today.

Oh please, spare me of that ********. Your arguments are so weak. People have to get their driver’s license renewed every few years and manage it just fine. Does you argument, weak as it is, not apply equally to everyone and not just one race?

Edit: On second thought, your argument actually applies to more white voters than minorities simply based on numbers. There are far more white people in this country than black or any other minority group. As a result, there are more white people that can’t afford the few hours to get an ID (a ******** argument IMO, but I’m playing your game). So, based on your “logic”, wouldn’t it affect more white people trying to get an ID in pure overall numbers?

If 4+ hours is the difference between you dying of starvation or ending up homeless than you have bigger concerns than whether you can vote or not. And as someone who used to be in poverty and worked 70-80 hours a week I can personally vouch I would’ve found the time to get my drivers license if I didn’t already have it.

Can’t believe the whole bank thing slipped my mind. It’s just so automatic for me now I don’t even think about it. Excellent point. Pretty much shoots his argument dead.

Hospital and Pharmaceutical payments and purchases as well. You need an ID for the majority of things you do and use in life today more so than ever because of fraud.

Everything shoots that argument dead. Voter suppression is nothing more than a myth used to divide. Did it exist many decades ago? Absolutely. But it hasn’t existed for a LONG time. Dems simply use the lie as just another reason to vote for them. It’s akin to telling senior citizens that Republicans are going to take away their SS and Medicare and will just let them die. The sad thing is too many people are too dense to see reality.

It‘s honestly sad that people choose to live in darker days of the past rather than live in the here and now which is so much better. There’s a reason the US gets a huge amount of legal immigrants every year. Everyone wants to live here. Why would everyone want to live in an evil, backward place? Doesnt pass the sniff test (doesn’t smell right).

Actually that is not true. When I worked in fast food, people could get paid on something that amounted to a debit card because many people didn't have banking accounts. On their first payday, they would get the debit card in the mail with their salary loaded on to it and it would get reloaded every two weeks. They never had to go to deal with a bank. I asked one of them one time why they didn't just do direct deposit. He said because he didn't have enough money to be able to open a bank account.

I've never had to present an ID when I went to pick up a prescription at a pharmacy. Nor have I ever had to present it when paying off a medical bill, I just do that online actually.

Hasn't existed for a long time? Florida voters voted overwhelmingly in favor of allowing ex-convicts vote. What did the FL legislature do? Pass a poll-tax bill that required them to pay off all their fees before they could vote and then never actually told any of them how much money they owed so they could even pay it off. And who are the majority of ex-felons? Minorities. Or how about numerous states shutting down polling precincts in majority minority neighborhoods while shutting down few if any in majority white neighborhoods?

Felons automatically lose their right to vote. Maybe you didn’t realize that. And it applies to ALL races. Whose fault is it that black Americans commit over 50% of all violent crimes?

If you don’t want to lose your rights, it’s pretty easy. Don’t commit felonies! Imagine that.

Lol. No vacation time? No government offices open on Saturdays? No boss will allow them?

All any one of them had to do is simply take $50, or $100, depending upon the bank, off their pre-paid card, and use that money to open a checking account.

A lot of banks won’t give checking accounts to poor people.

crazy.

How about my 90 year old grandma? What kind of ID should she have to produce?
