I hope you enjoy what you're watching today b/c Donati has ensured we're getting another year of it.

I think there was a tendency to favorably think of Donati simply because he wasn't Tanner, but as stated some time back he's in prove it mode. No reason to expect him to do anything useful. There were suggestions that he was ultimately behind the removing of Teasley and Shula, and that argument can be made. He evidently did good things at TCU. However was hired by mostly the same BoT that gave Tanner his job and rubber stamped all his moves. Until he does something useful here it really doesn't and never has mattered who he isn't or what he's done elsewhere.

I never thought Donati would fire Beamer based on this immediate season. But I do really, really believe that Beamer is on thin ice now. And he knows that. It's why he is making 2026 playoff predictions. It is the sound of a desperate and scared coach.

I'm going to play Devil's Advocate. We want better conditions than these before we go fishing. It's too windy right now. Donati is a sharp guy; he knows it's better to wait, painful though it might be.

Is there any guarantee of better conditions in the future?

I think the odds are very high that Paris will be shown the door at the end of this basketball season, and Donati has likely thought this for a while (like, possibly since last spring). Could be that the relatively modest ($10 million dropping to $7.5 million) basketball buyout and related coaching search are top of mind at this moment, with football changes to come after that.

If past is prelude, I would say yes. I've never seen a Coaching Carousel like this one.
I don't know that it will be as bad as this year, but I suspect with NIL and the portal, coaching leashes are going to get shorter and shorter.

I would wager the FSU job comes open. Depending on how things go in Tuscaloosa, that job could also come open.

If Clemson misses the CFP again, you could see that job come open.

It would not surprise me to see 5-6 notable job openings.
