I can’t say if $3 million is too much for Dent. Unlike a lot of you guys, apparently, I don’t know much about him. 
That answer would depend on several things, and one of them is how much do we have to spend. I think we are looking at getting 4 or maybe 5 portal kids, and we have to pay all of them plus the guys we have returning. $3 million is too much of it means you’re going to lose guys you thought you’d get, or if it means you’ll be really strong at the 1 but pretty weak at say the 4.

3 mil is a number thrown out by an agent and they always lie about this stuff. I bet its 2 million at the most

Pretty sure this is the guy who wanted to have a decision by April 1 or 2. Don't quote me on that though.

It’s exactly what you said…UCLA/UK. It’s very tight. There is allure of playing home with ex HS teammate at UCLA vs allure of bigger platform at UK

I don't really think the high school teammate thing factors in. For one, Donovan is significantly older than that kid. Why would he care about making a life decision revolve around a younger player (even partially)?
I think it's more likely that if he goes to UCLA, that's where he was going the whole time and the talking heads that said Kentucky was leading just pounced out of excitement instead of real Intel. I also think that if he goes to UCLA, he used Kentucky to merely get more money from the Bruins.
I don’t disagree. Proximity to home is the factor that’s getting all the attention. The fact that he entered the portal and set a commitment date so quickly could mean it really is a basketball decision or it could mean he, just like you said, already had home as his destination. There are *some* out there that now say UCLA may have a slight edge, but no matter who the reputable source is, no one in the know thinks anything is a done deal and have it as “very close” with a decision imminent
Speculation on one of the UCLA fan boards in the comments section is that Dent has a deal in place with KY but his agent is floating that 3 mil demand to raise UCLA's offer and that the deal UK has in place is much lower than that but Dent would be willing to go home and play at UCLA for a bag that size. Power play agent move or completely false narrative, who knows. That's why I didn't even bother linking it. Those fans seem convinced Dent (or his agent at least) is milking them for more money.

If we beat Tennessee tonight, got a Williams commit, and dent commits right after the game then I don’t think you can have a better day if your a Kentucky fan
Bailey would be so huge of a get. That position is special for Pope with him playing that position himself. Just a guess but Bailey may be one of if not his priority recruit. The way Bailey plays I can see him thriving in our system.

Took New Mexico to the round of 32 with a lot less help than he will get at UK.
Right now, he’s the closest thing to a national championship level PG that is in the Portal.
Hope he values winning over money and location.
There's no way in hell that UCLA is offering him more money. Everything that I've heard from insiders suggests that Kentucky is offering a king's ransom.
I don't get the persistent idea that Kentucky is cheap-skating their way through the portal again. They're not.
Another reason to want Dent or Smith is that you know they are 1 year deals, so our pursuit of tay kinney will not be messed up.
Bailey and Dent alongside Oweh would be a fantastic trio to build on
