I've never thought the RBs were in great shape since Stoops has been there. Kemp might be the exception. Boom has all the ability in the world, but I wonder about other things.

Sorry I upset some of you guys , I kinda expected it . For the first time since I joined in 2002 I actually know someone that has legit inside information about the UK football team. I always enjoy inside tidbits and thought I'd try to contribute . I've known some other stuff that I decided not to post because I thought it was too serious . I'll go back to the basketball board . But I am still a HUGE Kentucky football fan .
I get where you are coming from,I have been there.I'm not as connected as you but do pick up tidbits from time to time, when you try to pass them along they are not well received by all.

Most of us die hard fans appreciate any info we can get ,especially in off season time.

Yes, go back to the basketball board. All this "inside" information is pure speculation and really not worth discussing.

lol, what an a$$ . I do have to respond to this one . If the person that I know says something about training or conditioning it is ANYTHING but speculation. So suck one . And I apologize to anyone that appreciated my comments but because of a$$ holes , I will go back to basketball board . Bet these guys really love you texascat. Do you ever add anything to the board or just opinions that nobody cares about ? Don't bother responding, I'm putting you on my jerk/ignore list . Congrats , you're the first member ! lol

I have doubts about the info but let's just say they are a little out of shape. There are 7 months until kickoff so why does this even matter?

I guess because if shows that your not taking things seriously. Here it is spring practice, a time to get better and improve on what you did last year (piss poor) and you have been eating cheetoes instead. (If the report is true).
Says as a player that you have no discipline, work ethic and leadership abilities.

Gran is changing the culture. Some players dont like his way. If Boom and his dad have better options please transfer.

Let's wait until we see how the players respond to the new coaches before we start throwing them under the bus.

Them thar cheetos are mighty tasty, but who knows, they might just take the challenge.

Absolutely because all the other threads have proven to be pure gold and the discussions have been at the highest intellectual level. NOT.

Anyway thanks op and nice try.

A great observation.

He had been off for 2 weeks and had a bum elbow...running mechanics. speed and conditioning change a little bit with being off for a couple weeks and then losing use of one arm.

His arm was still in brace as of a week or 2 ago.

Was at a practice last spring. Boom, Towles and several other guys lined up at the goal line and sprinted 100 yards. It was when they were doing a bunch of team within a team drills. After the first 100 yard sprint each guy was hooked up to a sled and immediately sprinted another 100 yards back. There was no break in between the sprints. Towles won the event by about 25 yards. Williams collapsed at about the 30 yard line on the way back and didn't finish. It was the 30 closest to where he started, so he did run 170 yards.

I'm certainly not going to say he's in bad shape by any means, but I certainly wouldn't say he's in great shape either.

Boom was statistically the most explosive RB in the NCAA last year...maybe he could be more explosive, I don't know. I do know he has only been run down while injured or after a football layoff.

Oh get over it. This is nuts. Boom is 1 of the top returning playmakers in the SEC. People can find fault with him if they want, but no player is perfect. They are human. We are a better football team when Boom is on the field. If you actually attend our football games, you surely must realize this. Or have you already forgotten what happened after he was injured in the Louisville game? The deal with the running backs is going to take care of itself. Gran is a quality running back coach, and the arrival of Snell and Rose crowds the backfield to a point where everyone must bear down and work harder.

Boom seems like a good kid but if he doesn't start dedicating himself more to getting better others will pass him by. You can only get so far on talent alone. Now Jojo is not a kid I would think is 'out of shape'. I just love his attitude and team first mentality. Hoping for big things from him this year. Can't believe he's a senior now.

I don't think anybody would be surprised to find out Williams wasn't giving great effort in off season workouts. Anybody who isn't incredibly naive.
