But our two close losses that we arguably should have won and could have if Audige had played are to two teams now a combined 22-2. Those would be quality losses. Also missed opportunities to take down tourney caliber teams.

Providence with wins on the road at Wisconsin and UConn looks like one of the best teams in the country. And that Maryland win is looking better and better.

Providence looks like a legitimate good team. Not sure about Wake Forest though. I think at best they are a middle of the pack ACC team, but more likely in the bottom quadrant of that conference. That loss really hurts as I thought it was pretty clear we were the better team.

Bottom quadrant of the ACC for Wake Forest?

That conference has 15 teams, 4 of which are Boston College, Pitt, Notre Dame and Georgia Tech.

And then there's NC State, Syracuse and Miami, FL

Those teams aren't very good so far.

The ACC is not very good. Louisville lost to Western KY this weekend. I think WF will end up at least a bubble team.

Just my opinion. I very well could be wrong, but we'll see how it plays out.

As we all learned in Driver's Ed, let's not overdrive our headlights. I'm so beaten down by the results since our tourney year that I'd be satisfied with an overall winning record, and THRILLED with a .500 B1G record. Year after year, the B1G schedule is an absolute grind. You could start the conf season at, say, 3-0 and then lose 13 in a row, hypothetically.

This times 100. I tell people NU is a bubble team but they could vanish real quick once conference play starts.

I don’t see a long losing steak happening this year - added freshmen talent, maturity, skill development and apparently better team chemistry, plus Taylor Battle on staff to help Buie steady himself.

Perhaps not, and especially not with the number of big losses in the streak (only 2 one-possession losses); however, the two 3-game winning streaks that bookended the season might be close to what we achieve overall. We've averaged around 6 B1G wins a year this century, although we play 20 games now. It's plausible that we go, say, 8-12, followed by a B1G tourney loss, which would put us 16-15. I've said elsewhere that I could live with a winning season overall, and I won't backpedal from that, but is that a real improvement (with an additional regular season B1G game in there v 2021)?

I feel like this team is better, but as Fitz says on the FB size, winning B1G games is hard. I don't see them going 12-8
