Jon Rothstein is reporting per Chris Collins that Pardon will not play this evening. He said that NU at MSU is one of the 5 games to watch today and he stated that NU does not have any quality wins or wins that "move the needle" but a win over MSU would do that. Too bad Rothstein missed the Dayton win. Do you think Collins will use that as bulletin board material? Or do you think he will focus on shutting down freshman C Nick Ward who the Big 10 network analysts are falling all over and G Alvin Ellis who Collins made an offer to but he chose to sit on the bench for the past three years for Izzo and scored 20 points as he bailed out MSU v. Minny. MSU is a 3 point favorite. Should be a fun one to watch!

Ward will be the toughest job for Lumpkin and Skelly since John Collins of Wake Forest. KenPom gives us a 40% win probability, which seems right to me. I'm cautiously optimistic that Law will have a big game and Mac will make good decisions with the ball. Would love to grab this one just in time for Bridges to return and take MSU to its usual place in the conference.

My AT&T U-Verse is apparently asleep on Michigan State. I went to set the DVR to record last night, and it's listed as Northwestern at Michigan, live at Crisler Center. I'm at work today, and hopefully the DVR doesn't reset if the listing is corrected.

Sanjay and Skelly must avoid foul trouble. We have to stay competitive on the boards. MSU has traditionally been strong on the offensive boards. If we can play even on the boards I like our shooting and our chances.
