That will be the key. Too easy to recruit against us on the defensive side. With some of the recent commits, Grinch can obviously talk the talk. Until we show we can walk the walk, this can be expected to occur again.

IF we can climb halfway out of the basement or better THIS season and perhaps get to the Champ game and/or win it all....

Careful TD.

Best wishes and goodbye Mr Manning. Will be ok with me if your name is never mentioned on this board again.

Manning said he still likes OU.
With or without him, I think OU will be alright.

OU is not known for DB talent. If Grinch is as promised, eventually some 5 star, a Top 10 DB talent will eventually step forward. One that understands and that sees what OU can do with their talent. That person will then be a pied piper and others will follow. Manning isn't that person. He's needed, but it isn't a devastating loss at this point.

Last year OU signed two 5 star WRs. A&M did the same but with DBs. Let's see how it all plays out.

And A&M is known for DB talent? Like I get it if a kid goes to bama or Clemson or Ohio state. But A&M is a dog **** program where you’re guaranteed to accomplish nothing of consequence.

1. You're right... Aggie hasn't accomplished nothing
2. But neither has Grinch
3. You're in denial of you think a Jimbo Fisher hire has not changed the Aggie team.
4. Aggie signed two 5 star DBs last year. Most 5 star DB recruits won't sign w/ them the following year as a result.
5. I'm not sure, but perhaps the earlier commitment of Washington had an effect on his decision to de-commit.

Manning was recruited as a Cornerback and Washington is a safety.

Jimbo Fisher is nothing more than Mack Brown redux. He's the ultimate snake oil salesman which, of course, makes him a great collegiate recruiter. As an actual coach, he'd be out of his depth in a puddle.

Like Brown, Fisher won a single NC thanks to a generational talent (albeit thug) at QB. Bottom line, is that with comparable personnel Fisher will lose most of the time. When Fisher's talent is only marginally better, he's only about 50-50 to win.

All of the above plus the sorry condition in which Fisher left FSU tells you everything you really need to know about him.

Wow WP that's some insightful sh*t! don't folo/care-about seminole anything so assume you have checked this guy out. does have a bit of a used car salesman vibe (no offense sales guys out there i sold cars back in the day) and agree with your point about the state of the program in his wake. often speaks volumes about the predecessor. that being said.....there is a momentum building in C/S that worries me. how are we doing recruiting against the ags...seems like we're doing well against tx...but what about Fisher? that old undeserved aggy arrogance is blooming again and will puff up to typical disgusting proportions until reality (see: A&M vs auburn, bama, lsu etc) blows up like a carnival balloon. hopefully the houston kids will jump that ship and swim to ours
