Doubleheaders

For many years the Bloomington/Normal area would have a doubleheader on the opening weekend of the season. Central Catholic vs U-High and Bloomington vs Normal Community. This was played at ISU and the crowds were always huge..

Currently a number of teams play at Soldier Field to open the season.

With overall program numbers dwindling, I wonder if more schools would consider such events throughout the regular season. There are many stadiums that could host these types of events.

Been to ISU for several of the Twin Cities showdowns some great games for sure.....in the end schools are still hesitant to give up a home game...yet they also seem top at least draw pretty well.

East St Louis has the Week 2 Classic back on (Labor Day weekend) this year....I'm planning to go and that's also been a well run event and some good games as well.

I've sniffed around at running a few in my area (Joliet/Will County) or at least getting them going....stay tuned.
