Was flipping through the channels today and came across St Joe vs LaSalle on CBSSN. Duke played quite a bit while I was watching. Played decently. Looks like he fits in well in the Atlantic 10. Happy for him that he's on a team where he can contribute.

Ehhh. He has played better of late for them but still pretty bad given the level of competition. He's really just not good enough for division 1.

Maybe if he went down to like the SWAC he'd have a better output

Reiber is considered a soph or junior ? If he is here 1-2 more years he will be a significant improvement over several others who graced the RAC/Jersey Mike’s Arena. Love Mike’s Chicken Chipotle Hot Sub.

I think he's got at least 2 more given the free year. Would love to see some beef come in so he could move out to the 4 at times.

So those several posters knocking this younster are either clueless or just have an agenda about whom they think should be getting some playing time not what Steve Pikiell thinks is the way to go.

That’s always the case for some. Nobody is safe after a loss.

I think Reiber has potential and has some skills. I also think he has displayed some confidence which is important. The one thing I haven't seen and I think may be holding him back is his motor. He seems to be gliding out there and against the physical interior players in this league you cannot float. So, offensively he might have some versatility but what we really need from that position is rebounding.

Doucoure's started their last 4 games, and in those games is averaging:

17.5 min, 5.4 pts (.500 FG%, .750 FT%), 4.6 rb, 0 ast, 1.0 stl, 0.8 tov, 2.3 pf

Hopefully he continues to improve there.

Hmmm.. anyone over on the football team that could fit that bill? We supposedly have a 6-7 and 6-8 guy.. both played HS basketball.. bring one on to bang out a couple fouls

Truth. I just rewatched the Maryland Game. Reiber got some important minutes in the second half and got points that broke a little drought and also played solid defense etc. Granted it was Maryland who isn't dominant in the paint, but the hate for reiber is silly. I think he's promising quite frankly.

I agree, Colonel.

Eugene took some time to develop. My hope is that he develops on a similar path. I do wish he took some charges. No one takes charges on defense anymore. (Though some people are too important to risk injury.) I think he has some pretty decent foot speed for a big man and can probably take a charge from someone that is driving or from an opposing big that is trying to back down.

Let’s see how he develops this year and then by next we will be able to have a clearer picture of yes or no. I’m going with a yes on Reiber.

If you go back and look at Reiber's HS tapes, he was able to score at all 3 levels. The fundamentals are there. He's still adjusting to the speed and strength of the college game, but it's clear he "gets it" (unlike Doucoure) and is steadily improving his game. I expect big things from Dean in the years to come.
