Think the sec is down. Anybody’s guess who wins this conference.
Hard to figure. A lot of teams dont look good yet. Oklahoma looks pretty good, Ole Miss didn't look great Missouri and Texas have cupcake schedules so I would pick one of those. Probably Texas.

I don't think Napier can survive this season unless he wins out. An elite QB and good players but they always appear to be flat.

Florida might be the 4th best team in that state.

Napier is probably not going to with Florida come Monday.

I don’t know anything about his coaching strengths and specialty.

Would he make a decent OL Coach/? 🤔

SEC looked good yesterday. UF only team to lose other than UK to Ole Miss. Oklahoma, Miss. St., Vandy the standouts. We will have to play a lot better to beat Vandy or anyone else.

Napier may be gone after two weeks.
Next week UF @ LSU, week after that UF @ Miami.
Should he go 2-0 (highly improbable) no doubt he would stay, 1-1 (again highly improbable) might buy him more time, but 0-2 highly likely he is dead man walking.

That boy at Vandy is a real coach. He gets his team in position to win.

That boy got manhandled by us last year along with his hotdog QB on their own turf and they were pretty confident coming into that game.

They have a very mature team across the board again this year.

Should be a good matchup this weekend.

We definitely seem weaker in the secondary this year so our offense is going to need to step up in a big way if that get rolling.

We were better last year. You know it and I know it.

Could be -- losing all of those players to the NFL likely has alot to do with it.

Are you going to feel differently if the staff opens up the full offensive playbook this week and we beat them by 14+?

IMO - there's little to take away from last night's game.

Fans cry about the OL every year.

They obviously should have done better against SC State and let's hope that starts next weekend.

The offense is definitely missing the RPO action with Sellers and Rocket which kept the OL issues at bay last season.

Also, the dynamic of OL Players blocking for the $4 million dollar QB while they receive little to nothing probably isn't an ideal situation either.

The big SEC schools pay players from top to botton while we throw everything at a couple of players.

As you can see from this board, Vandy will not only win the conference but the natty as well. So it is written.

If that places us at a disadvantage, and we have other detriments, then there's no use pretending we are better than we are.

The sentiment is almost exactly the same as after the Old Dominion Game last year when the sky was falling.

Then we went to UK and all of the same individuals who had us buried started talking about the playoffs.

We have alot of new players at different positions who have only played two games.

Let's see if they can gel as the season matures. That's what happened last season.

I have no idea what is going to happen - but I do believe Beamer & Co. have done more than enough to deserve some patience at this point.

Well, I need to be honest with you. I'm neither patient nor impatient when it comes to Gamecock sports or any sports. I hardly ever watch any sports event all the way through with the possible exception of major championship golf.

I've reached the stage in life where I derive more pleasure from forum repartee and mild disputation than from the games themselves. It's been that way for several years now.

I'm probably less emotionally invested than most folks here. I hang around to pass a little time and to enjoy some diversion.

I do see the team's prospects as fraught, however, considering what lies ahead.

Thank you. My feelings exactly. Another thread on here claims this is still “the same old Carolina.” The same can be said about the fans. Every year we don’t beat someone as soundly as we should in all three phases and all of a sudden the board claims this must be the worst Gamecock football team in recent memory.

To coin a William Munny saying, "Fans ain't got nothing to do with it."

Nothing to do with what? How the team performs? I never said they did…..I am saying Carolina fans will always act like the sky is falling any time the team doesn’t cover the spread, whether they won or not.

What of it? Why should that rankle you - or anyone else?

Or find something of interest to discuss gamecock sports on a gamecock message board.

Maybe the number of posts that seem to bother you so much is an indication that others think those topics are interesting to talk about?

Didn’t you yourself say that’s the point of message boards? For fans to discuss why each other are wrong for what they’re saying or doing?
