He also broke the thumb on his throwing hand and had surgery to fix it…so there is that.
I wonder if its a combo thing like maybe the receivers just don’t get space down the field for the staff to trust that type of throw plus JM thumb injury.
The Ole Ms game is going to be huge next week and it will be the Sooners biggest test on D this year. I honestly believe this D can hold them under 20 which gives them a big chance to come out with a victory at home.
I hope you’re right, 59….and wished I had your confidence in our defense because from what I saw yesterday the Rebels have a pretty good offensive attack. But if our offense plays well I think there’s a chance we can out score them if JM can rebound.
Don't seem to be trying it much. Between the recent surgery and the OL issues id rather not waste possessions and plays on something thats bound to fail. Burks and Satenga get open underneath. Gibson's development will be big imo.
Id like to see even more deliberate pocket moving plays allowing Mateer to make decisions and throws on the move. He's better on the run.

No doubt about Kiffens offense and I think OU cant get into a scoring match with them. I just see no way OU can keep up offensively which is why the defense has to have a huge day and hold the Rebels to 20 or less for any shot of OU winning.
Kiffen on OU. Makes subtle hint that OU is stealing signals. This is shaping up to be an interesting game.
Combination of not having elite receivers and probably moreso the struggles with accuracy as derived from the injury. We need offense to stay on field to protect our defense so if focusing on the routes he can throw comfortably without risking 3 and outs thats good enough for me
