My TV provider (DirecTV Stream — do not recommend) has recently added a feature wherein live broadcasts automatically extend beyond the programming window if necessary. (I think they’re just about the last to get this.)
This meant that I turned on my tape delayed broadcast to immediately see a 2 1/2 hour programming length: overtime.
There was no joy in watching NU dominate the final ten minutes of the second half, no joy in seeing them come out with purpose for the first five minutes after the break, no joy in watching RU’s big guy get hurt on a fine NU fast break, which is where NU took their 52-28 lead.
There was only dread, in anticipation of how NU would spectacularly blow it. And, I must say, those final 15 minutes were worse than I imagined.
The only joy in this game were the three separate times where I caught a glimpse Nicholson doing his Butch Cassidy impression after NU made a three. I hope he fires his imaginary six shooters in the air every time they hit one, including when he’s on the court. Pew-pew-pew-pew!
