Drexel and Lehigh this weekend

Not really a competitive weekend especially with Lehigh having everyone out (Crookham, Stanich, Taylor).

Against Drexel..I believe only ranked matches is at 174 vs Queen (a local NJ kid not far from me), and HWT.

Against Lehigh..look forward to seeing if Luke can open it up against ultra defensive Seymore. Duke gets a quality opponent in Rozynski who is ranked around 12 I believe and majored Antrell Taylor at national duals, also same kid that gave Kasak a tough match last year.

Who does PSU send out at 141?

Anything else of note?

Cael Sanderson's weekly media availability was to be at 1 p.m. ET today, but Penn State canceled it due to campus being closed until at least Noon and uncertainty with the weather. Right now it's still TBD if they will reschedule it for tomorrow before the team heads to Drexel on Thursday. Will share an update if and when I get one.

I am sure Luke is pumped to get the chance to avenge his loss to Seymour at the NCAA tournament last year. Had he won that match I believe he would have won the whole thing. It will be a great measuring stick to see if Luke has improved in getting to his offense against defensive-minded wrestlers.

Use the parking garage at 3330 Market St. It’s directly across from Dakalakis Athletic Center. It will cost $18-$22 depending on how long you park. Just a heads up, it fills quickly for weekend events.

If it’s full, try the Chestnut Garage on the corner of Ludlow and 34th.

I have been waiting a long time for Lehigh to step into the top 6 or 7 of NCAA programs. This is a program that when they decided to endow their program it took like 2 days of phone calls.
Despite strong alum support, available money, good coaching staff and proximity to elite talent they seem to not be able to reach that annual elite level.

I'm bummed that we're not going to see Lehigh's full lineup. They were the one team that could have offered a somewhat competitive early-season dual.

I'll be honest, I get a bit envious watching all these other top-10 matches, while we're looking at Drexel, Wyoming, NDS, and Stanford to finish the year.

Idk about that , Rutgers stopped getting top NJ recruits awhile ago, Aragona was probably the last one, meanwhile Lehigh just signed the guy ( Sontz) who will be just the 6th ever 4x state champ in NJ history. In the last 10 years Rutgers has gotten 2 total recruits from the best 2 schools in the state ( delbarton and Blair) and usually cant even get a visit from guys from those schools

SRATH.... i was just saying the same thing! Maybe they need to re-evaluate offseason conditioning or maybe it is intentional to shut some wrestlers down early and give them a shorter runway to the post season (potentially to reduce wear and tear)??? but i do feel like they have started the last several seasons without a full lineup until after the holidays!

Something I forgot, and it's kind of ironic given Cael's quote (roughly, from recollection) that he didn't come to Penn State to beat Lehigh, was that Cael's first dual at PSU was against Lehigh - and Lehigh won.
