Hello friend. The Dark Side Rankings are rankings from Edgytim posters that are all well respected. They are different from other rankings and are another great part of this board. Expect "Swagger High(MS)" to be in them.

The DSR began as a rebel ranking system by some knowledgeable long-timers. Official rankings didn't account for strength of schedule enough or other factors like suspensions, health. To the papers a loss was a loss and a win was a win and those rankings became predictably more wrong by the week.
The early years of DSR were phenomenal but then ramblinman started posting his excellent rebuttals and since then I have seen the DSR go from avant garde to gun shy. I have noticed though that official paper rankings have become better taking more account of the type of game played before releasing rankings.
Full disclosure: I'm not a DSR ranker. I just enjoy the DSR opera between the rankers themselves and of course ramblinmans rebuttals. The world is a better place because of the DSR.

In the wikipedia entry... there is also mention of the short lived "Light Side Rating" from last year. The author was sadly driven into exile, humiliated by numerous posters, eventually seeking asylum in MWittman's carriage house. :(

JC,

Who are the voters? Would you please list them? i do look at the DSR when it comes out and would like to know who votes.
When the ratings come out, each voter's name is listed next to his/her ranking/vote. That way we can malign, antagonize, disparage, and denigrate each on an individual basis.

Thanks. I don't remember voters having their names on it. I only remember numbers. This is why I asked.

I do recall the "Light Side". I witnessed the responses and, admittedly, derived some enjoyment at the author's expense.

Sorry I'm missing a few

MS:

I am no longer a member of the DSR voting body. I spent two years on the committee, but abruptly resigned in late 2012 over JCHILLTOPPERS' refusal to seat a transgender panel member. When my gentlemanly advocacy was repeatedly rebuffed, I found I could not in good conscience remain installed on a board occupied by a cabal of cultural gatekeepers.

A principled stance for which I deserve a round of applause, I think my gesture could stir an important debate on why rights require a proper defense and should pave the way for a groundbreaking addition to this esteemed panel.

The reason for my exodus now public knowledge, my conscience is unburdened from a devastating weight.

I do, however, anxiously await twelve weeks of ramblinman's blistering counterarguments.

What are you trying to incite? Those kids on all the teams were great hard working kids that kept their noses clean and played with pride. There were times the deck was stacked against them and NC had NV's number, but they were still great games! All said on this I wish we could get a comment from the stripes about the picture I posted yesterday.

Maybe they would wear the dresses to a Naz game. I thought there was something with that. Makes sense with NC.

There are 2 reasons the kid didn't get tossed.
1. It was state title game
2. your son is a tough SOB and popped right back up like the turf was made of rubber.

I guess, but according to what the standard, and based on the stripes comments and actions last Friday, it should be enforced regardless of player reaction or game situation; in the interest of player safety.

If I were a ref neither would be tossed. I would err on the side of that it wasn't blatant head hunting.
