DuKane Conference Week #6

Voodoo pulling away from the crowd in DuKane.? Stiff competition and a lot more football to be played. These guys are good at picking winners and losers.
Ok here goes
Batavia - by a lot
GBN - they seem to be playing better, LP in theory should come out on top, but they are Voodoos achillies heal in weekly game picking so I am going with GBN in this one.
STCN - going with the home team in this rivalry game. (Sorry Mark!)
Yikes - the toughest game to pick.........
WWS - BUT I DO NOT FEEL GOOD about this pick. Only reason I am going with WWS in this one is that I think their offense is just a little better and perhaps more balanced than WN’s and the WWS kicker’s leg! I can easily see WN taking a page from Batavia and slamming 50 power runs in a row into the WWS Defense and wearing them down and overpowering them and then the huge chunk plays for TDs start rolling in.

I would normally have also chosen the home team also but for reasons known to you, I am powerless to pick against STCE.

STE -- who would have thought East is coming in with a more impressive passing performance; Think East outscores them and Danny Goetsch is the best receiver noone talks about

Not much to play for in this game, but going with GBN simply because they have played good teams “better” and that they are home.
StN over StE: Great matchup, but I feel that North is just slightly better overall this year.
WWS over WN: North needs this game desperately for their playoff hopes, but South just seems to have a solid thing going this year. If you’re looking for someone in Wheaton tonight, just head to Wheaton North! Going to be a great atmosphere!

Geez I’ve been Lake Parked again!! The bane of my fearless game picking existence! That means I went 3-1 this week and Batavia Dogs went 4-0 so I fell into a tie. I am fading and Batavia Dogs is surging. This is not good! I need to hit A 4-0 week next week!
As an FYI - the only two games I have gotten wrong so far this year in the Dukane were both LAKE PARK games! I picked them to win vs Dekalb and then The Dekalb Debacle happens and then I pick them to lose tonite and they stick a finger in my eye and win! I cannot figure out Lake Park and I have been trying for over 3 years now!

LP has to win out to get to the playoffs so I picked them this week but I think WWS eliminates them from playoff contention next week.

I’m interested in your take on STCE laying a turd at STCN last night. It was very difficult and depressing to watch. Especially since STCE came out so strong. Stopped North on their first series than drove down the field and scored. Then....nothing. Bad tackling, bad blocking, dropped passes, turnovers, predictable and repetitive play calling. I’m almost certain they went negative total yards in second half or maybe even from mid second quarter on. It’s amazing that the defense kept that a 7-7 game until the very end of the third quarter considering the outstanding field position for North. This was a one score game in the fourth quarter and instead of turning into a nail biter, it became a nightmare.
