You have to take 4 of them and they did win at Wisconsin this year. Kansas isn't a 1, Gonzaga isn't a 1.

Duke won at Virginia and if both are gone tonight got to think Duke is higher then Virginia.

So what you are saying the #1's are Kentucky, Villanova (who barely won tonight on a questionable call), Wisconsin (who lost at Rutgers sans Frank the Tank) and Arizona is who is losing to UCLA right now (and lost to 3 teams that might not even make the NIT tournament)

Maybe not offensively, they're atrocious defensively...like most acc teams. It will cost them in the tourney eventually.

Yeah right. They are weak on the inside. No way they are a one seed.
Never bet against Duke getting a 1 seed...

Honestly is doesn't matter. Whoever is hot at tourney time will move on, and whoever is REAL will move on. Only Kentucky is REAL.

Virginia, and Nova are going home the first weekend. They are both frauds. Duke will choke. Wisconsin and Arizona are going to the final 4 unless they are in with Kentucky in the midwest, as is Kentucky. Everyone else looks like they are going to stumble.

I posted this in another thread, but it is easy to justify Duke as a 2 with a loss tonight, based on the following:

No conference title

No tourney title

Blowout losses to NC State and Miami

The easiest would be to slot them as a 2 in the East with Villanova. Wisconsin gets the 1 in the south, and UVA gets the nod out west (regular season ACC champion).

I know they have 2 really good wins. I know that Duke at their best is probably a top 4 team. But if they do lose tonight, they will have more slip ups than the others. And it isn't like being a 2 in the East is a punishment.

Exactly.

But...it would be a rare recent victory for a common sense approach by the selection committee.

I wish the OP had waited to post this until after Duke lost the game.

It is far from over. Duke is about to make a run it appears.

And if Duke drops to a 2...guess whose bracket they will be placed in?

I predict that if Duke drops to a 2, the committee will decide that Syracuse is better geographically for them than Cleveland
.

But you're right, ND couldn't guard a garage door. Duke could score 40 more points.
