They shot 38 threes for the second time this season.
I am just happy to see Maluach, James and now Ngongba II healthy and playing. Could have really used all three vs UK late in the 2nd half. That loss will haunt me for a while.. Hope we get another shot.
Malachi was just ran ragged and cramping and fatigue caught up…that’s part of the game when playing a team that wants to push the ball for 40 min and makes you chase them nonstop off screens in the half court.I am just happy to see Maluach, James and now Ngongba II healthy and playing. It haunts me that arguably our best player had 1 point lol and we still wonI am just happy to see Maluach, James and now Ngongba II healthy and playing. Could have really used all three vs UK late in the 2nd half. That loss will haunt me for a while.. Hope we get another shot.
What a funny post. Maluach was in the game late. He came in and gave up the and-one to Carr. He was totally out of his league at the end of the game, failing to rebound and defend when he was needed most. As for injuries, Butler was injured as well and played through it. That's what competitors do. You and the media can keep pampering your guys. I'm sure it will help them in March when Duke runs into another veteran team that doesn't give a shizz about their draft stock.I am just happy to see Maluach, James and now Ngongba II healthy and playing. But James doesn't even start for them.Malachi was just ran ragged and cramping and fatigue caught up…that’s part of the game when playing a team that wants to push the ball for 40 min and makes you chase them nonstop off screens in the half court.
James was definitely unfortunate from a defense and depth standpoint. Glad he isn’t seriously hurt for you guys. Hope you lose in March obviously but would never wish real
Injury on college young men.
Elite midrange game.Flagg 1/5 from 3. 3/8 total. 8 pts against Wofford he is a nice player but I just don’t see all the hoopla
"Us"While we always love when they lose them winning helps us as we beat them
Elite midrange game.
Elite passer.
Only 17 years old.
He scored 26 on UK and didn't even look like a complete player yet.
Give him time.
He'll be the #1 pick for a reason.
No doubt they had a lot of 8 vs 5 help that game. That’s what makes that 77-72 victory that much sweeter knowing we have a COACH and a TEAM that can over come that bias BS!Make no mistake, the refs awarded duke 6 ******** points as well. The two fouls on 3 point shots weren’t fouls. The second one undoubtedly was clean.
This! These people act as if he didn’t play in the second half. Lmao hilarious!I could be mistaken. Getting old. But I could have sworn I saw Maluach in the game at crunch time getting worked out on the perimeter by Andrew Carr for a crucial and1.
Idk, I hope they beat the snot out of Kansas and Auburn.I personally hope duke loses every game from here on out by 30.
If you're referring to my post, I said in my the paragraph that I was referring to all the podcasts I have seen since the game, not you.whoa whoa whoa who I made no excuses in my post. Take it easy. All I said was we could have used them. Never said we would have won. Isn't it common sense to say we could have used them instead of Maluach being unable to stay on the floor due to the cramping (glad it was cramping for a time wasn't sure), and James shoulder (again glad it wasn't serious for extended time) and of course Ngongba (been out all year until today) to come in and help with rebounding and rim protection. I gave and give UK all the credit.
Schyer sure isn't scared to play teams like K was unless they were at home. They're next four opponents are (9)Arizona, (1)Kansas, Seattle, and (5)Auburn. We're about to see who Duke is...
Was Ngomgba hurt? I figured he would have played .I am just happy to see Maluach, James and now Ngongba II healthy and playing. Could have really used all three vs UK late in the 2nd half. That loss will haunt me for a while.. Hope we get another shot.
K kinda got Cal-ish towards the end. He would only want to do what he wanted and had all the favoritism so it didn’t matter. He could still lay the wood to teams though. I mean when you have five titles you can do what you want.Schyer sure isn't scared to play teams like K was unless they were at home.
I definitely don't wanna see them before that. That's the kind of BS match up we always get in the elite 8 it seems like. Wether it's us or them thay is seeded down further than they should be.I think your one shot is done. Unless both teams are seeded in the same region, they would not meet until the FF. I’ve seen this type of Duke team many times before and they are a 2nd round flameout guaranteed.
Yeah you may not be doing that, but your fanbase is blaming the loss on you guys missing open shots and the injuries. Breaking news a team with not so great depth gets forced to run up and down and the shots start falling short at the end. Also acting like Kentucky didn’t miss a ton of open shots is funny also. Robinson had 1 point, Oweh Williams and butler missed a lot of short shots. So Kentucky can play the what if game as well.whoa whoa whoa who I made no excuses in my post. Take it easy. Hate to say it, but I agree. If duke can get two wins there, it makes UK’s win over duke look very elite.Idk, I hope they beat the snot out of Kansas and Auburn.
We missed at least 5 bunnies, right at the cup. I was aggravated af about that in real time lmaoYeah you may not be doing that, but your fanbase is blaming the loss on you guys missing open shots and the injuries. Oh I don’t disagree. It’s a depth thing more than anything. I don’t think James makes a difference ultimately. Mulauch not being able to stay on floor is what hurt them… not sure it would have made a difference either once we went small w Carr at the 5…. But that’s where we ran them downBut James doesn't even start for them.
Who would Scheyer have benched to have James in at the end of the game?
KK? Proctor? Highly unlikely that either of them sits in the last four minutes of that game, as @Duke Blu is hilariously suggesting.
Give me freshman Zion over Flagg any day.Flagg 1/5 from 3. 3/8 total. 8 pts against Wofford he is a nice player but I just don’t see all the hoopla
As far as straight dominating a game yeah for sure. I think Flagg can fit within a team structure better. That’s what ended up making that team lose. If all 3 stars didn’t play amazing every game they were vulnerable. Flagg fits this team a little better for passing and rebounding,Give me freshman Zion over Flagg any day.
He’s got a ways to go, but his potential is elite. He’s just not at that level where he’s a Beasley, Zion, KD type who is gonna get 30/15 whenever he wants. He has a lot more hype than his game warrants IMO I think he’s just your usuals top 3 talent, not the once in a decade type they want him to be.Flagg 1/5 from 3. 3/8 total. 8 pts against Wofford he is a nice player but I just don’t see all the hoopla
They don't call them the sandy blonde beaches of basketball for nothing. They look like way better when they aren’t cramping. We caught them at the right time of the month.![]()
He was just putting in his time toward retirement.K kinda got Cal-ish towards the end. He would only want to do what he wanted and had all the favoritism so it didn’t matter. He could still lay the wood to teams though. I mean when you have five titles you can do what you want.
I've been hoping to see some improvement there, but haven't noticed anything yet. Yet.Amari Williams is very raw offensively in the post, but that will get fixed in short order
I agree with this. There's far too much hype in the media these days to find the next "Lebron" or "Jordan" or "Kobe". Those dudes are maybe once or twice in a lifetime. But the media and other CBB talking heads act like they pop up every other year or so now. He’s got a ways to go, but his potential is elite. Yeah, it's not like we are competing with duke for a conference title, we actually want them to fo well, because the better they do, the better our numbers look.Hate to say it, but I agree. If duke can get two wins there, it makes UK’s win over duke look very elite.
The more games Flagg plays, the more film coaches will have on him. He's a good mid range guy that has length to shoot over guys at his position, but he's not an uber athletic guy that has physical capabilities that can't be stopped by regular college kids. He’s got a ways to go, but his potential is elite. I'm good with it. He's so good defensively and him being raw offensively gives this team room to grow, a place to greatly improve.I've been hoping to see some improvement there, but haven't noticed anything yet. Yet.
I'm amazed his coaches never taught him offense in his years at Drexel.
Heck, all that hype Zion got in college, you would figure he would be the next Barkley, but the only time I hear anything about Zion in the NBA, it's another injury causing him to sit out.I agree with this.
