One has to wonder if these games are fixed with some of the bonehead plays. I would almost tell my guys to stand there and not rush the kicker. Weak call, but don't put yourself in the position where the refs can throw a flag. ACC could not afford for Louisville to lose. If Duke were 4-1 with a Heisman favorite, and Louisville was out of the playoff conversation, the flag likely does not come out.

Can't say that I agree. Not as if if just just rolled up to the kicker and then barely bumped him, he rolled through his leg. Just can't be that aggressive on a long FG as even if it's made a TD wins the game. Amazes me with the amount of bad luck our team gets UofL gets just the opposite.

That game is still a long away off. While Duke had a good game plan I would say UofL will of course watch the film and see where they could have done things to change the tempo of the game.
I understand. But they haven't been very good against the run this entire uear.

Duke only had 110 yards as a team on the ground while Louisville rushed for 288. Of course Duke had that one drive that lasted almost 9 minutes, that will take a toll on any defense.

I will answer that for myself. I am a truck driver with out access to a TV so I was listening on the radio.
not hatin on you I'm really not but that would be like me being on a UL message board while we are playing Miss St in a close game in the 4th Q. Makes no sense to me but whatever you enjoy I guess, doesn't bother me,

Actually flipping between here and a UofL board were I am a mod and Facebook and texting my wife. Not being able to watch the games I like to read how others who are watching the game see the calls that are made like if was a good or bad call.

Exactly. I feel.UK has the line and backs to do that more than what Duke did.

I just don't see U.K. Wanting to go at that slow of a pace. However if it comes down like it has the last couple years and U.K. Needs that win to get to a bowl game they just might go that slow.

No way that was roughing. Roughing is called when the defender runs into the plant foot while the kicker's foot is still in the air. The replayed showed both of the kicker's feet where on the ground when the defender rolling into him harmlessly. This probably should have been incidental contact and no foul but no worse then running into the kicker which is 5 yards and no first down. Ridiculous call.

I doubt Duke would have been able to drive for a TD anyway, they might have got a FG but would have lost in OT. Still it would have made for interesting theater.

Good teams find a way to win, especially when they are having an off night light this.

BTW,,, the fumble that wasn't was a very ball call in that the official should never have blown his whistle,, on the other hand the roughing the kicker was probably the right call so,,,
The UpfL radio pretty much agreed that was a quick whistle and the Cards caught a break.

I have to say, I think it was roughing. Running into the kicker is just that, runnin into him. Diving and landing near his legs, intentional or not, is roughing when you take the kicker out. Honestly, it could have easily injured the kickers leg and that's what the rule is there for. If that was us and they didn't call roughing, I would have been pissed. I would have rather seen a duke drive to try and win it, but it is what it is.

If you're Duke you don't even give the refs that chance to blow the whistle.. Louisvilles kicker was never going to make that kick. Oh well no big deal. Either way Duke or Louisville was going to lose so I go home half happy either way.

still running into the kicker, not roughing! The guy was making a play and frankly, made contact with a UL guy and then rolled into him. Roughing is when you go after the kicker and take him out. That dude went after the ball and fell into him. as he dove and took a wierd angle. Not roughing.. its just not. shouldnt have been a first down.

I am not a UK or UofL fan so I don't have a dog in this particular fight. I thought it was a fumble and should have been Duke ball, but I also thought the block in the back on the punt return was bogus. The UofL player barely touched him if he did, didn't hinder his progress or ability to make the tackle and shouldn't have been called. Looked like a make up call on the fumble. The roughing the kicker penalty was a tough one and may have been game determining. The thing that bothers me is officiating has gotten so inconsistent that players/fans don't really know what is going to be called. Years ago, all this handfighting WRs and DBs are doing today was pass interference, they push off each other and no call on one play, then the next one looks the same and they call PI.

Running into the kicker is bumping into them high, not rolling through a leg. The kicker didn't flop he had his leg taken out from under him. The player was not bumped into the kicker, he sold out trying to block a 46 yard FG which would have been a career long. Sorry as much as I would have loved to see Duke have a chance to win there, that play got the flag and call it deserved.

I wish football officiating would take more of the basketball concept of "no harm no foul". An example might be the block in the back nullifying the 95 yard return. In reality, it had no effect on the play becasue the player that was "illegally blocked" wasn't going to get to the return man anyway.

Cats have the running attack to make the UL game interesting. They just can't get 3 TDs behind and expect to come back. They need to keep it close throughout and let Benny be Benny in the 4th.

I'm predicting a Cats win for their 7th victory of the season!

Didn't even know the tards played last night....guess I wasted a Friday night out on the town....after BB Madness.

Was in two different sports bars and Madness was on each one...no tards-puke game.

It's all about matchups. Clemson and UL match up well.

Alabama and Ohio St could name their score against UL. Sorry but Duke is pedestrian team and UL had 2 weeks to prepare. Duke had a sure TD or FG taken away, who knows what happens.
This kid is RB playing QB, I mean you have to make him make throws.

I think Lamar J came out way too loose(cocky) and overconfident,, he didn't help his chances of getting that big Hiesman trophy , he is a very slippery runner but for his sake if he wants to make more money playing fb than he is currently making he better have some good hands and be able to run receiver routes. If he has the hands I guess he might make a great punt returner but as a passer he is not good at all.Having said all that,, who wouldn't like to have him as their college QB!!
