Small world...If you hold that "Chaminade family" mentality close to heart, it kind of makes us brethren
I must admit, as a CHSAA fan, it has been discouraging the past 15 or so years seeing the league as a whole get weaker....When I first started getting into the sport, a program like Holy Trinity could hold their own...Now HT is forfeited games to us because they feel it would be too much of a mismatch and they don't want their student-athletes getting embarrassed.
In terms of St. Mary's, I remember them having powerhouses in both hockey and basketball (during the Tim Cluess years)...Those beatings they gave us on the hardwood still hurt
And yes, O'Neill is most certainly a once-in-a-generation talent...Because he is such a horse as well as a skilled player, I see him being a potential game-changer from the moment he steps on campus in a few years...
Given the talent STA brings back next year, he and Danenza have a realistic possibility of winning national titles at pretty much every level of the sport...I believe both were members of the 91 Crush World Series of Youth Lax title team; The Friars will be in the running to win the HS crown in 2020; and then with good fortune, they will lead the Blue Devils to the natty in the coming years.
