Thought some of you might get a kick out of this...one of the Duke message boards after the game...
One of the colossal bonehead plays by Cayden in Duke history.
Saw it coming from before halftime.
Unfreaking believable. All you had to do was hold the ball.
Back to back blown leads in the tournament. B2B years. Smh
What do you even say? Back to back years 99% chance to win and you lose both.
But this one hurts more than the Houston game after going up by so much and just watching UConn be in the bonus for most of the second half. Gutted.
Why was cayden trying to pass it to pat...
This is why I hate Uconn almost as much as UNC. Up 19.. and just hold the ball.
Don't really know what to say, we definitely choked again. I would put this team right there with 18 and 19, heartbreaking 1 point losses in the Elite Eight.
Throw it straight up into the air. Or literally anything but that.
Why are you even trying to throw it to Pat...I have no words.
Whelp, that sucked.
I thought it was impossible that it could get worse than last year.....
Lots of ppl to blame, collective loss. I thought last year's loss hurt, this one..... never will forget.
3 freshmen touched the ball on the play. Not sure why Slim wasn't the one getting the ball on the inbounds on that to just hold it and shoot free throws. Feels like a coaching failure there.
No arguing officiating in the 2nd half was trash but simply dribble or hold the ball and we're in the final 4.
UConn of all teams and that all-time jackass Hurley. Been a fan since '78. This may be the worst loss of them all. Seriously not good for my blood pressure.
Stunning. Should have played some zone early to stop reed and didn't, bad TOs during the game trying to do too much, uconn being allowed to foul without calls, and an absolutely horrible wanking decision at the end to not just hold the ball. Don't know what else to say. This was gifted away and shouldn't have been.
I have no words. I don't know how we managed to lose this. I can't believe this actually happened. Why can't we ever put a team away? I just don't get it.
Game is pretty much over if he does nothing. That's what's maddening about it. He didn't need to move a muscle.
First #1 seed ever to lose when up 15+ they said. 134-1...
Refs: you DISGUST me. Outside of 1 call for Cam, you stole this game as much as we choked it. I love this team and my heart is broken.
That last pass was just so telegraphed, so unnecessary. Unbelievable. 5 seconds left. 2 point lead. Hold the darn ball. Shocking.
We have had some very bad luck. The Houston game last year, the end of the Carolina game, the end of this game. Why are the Basketball Gods doing this to Duke? Did K make a deal with them that he has not fulfilled? Or what? I don't understand.
I just don't understand. We were more ready to get touches for Cam and Dame than our near-90% FT shooter. It's like Jon's brain turns off in the final two minutes.
I'm in shock. Was that real? I pray not.
Duke had absolutely no business losing to this UConn team, especially like that.
Why was Evans 85 feet down the court under Duke's basket?
I can't believe the way we lost. I just can't believe it. Although I have to say, last year's collapse was even more heartbreaking for me.
We wankered up. Simple as that. The 17 point lead early in the second half strikes again.
Maybe Carlos will convince Cam to run it back and get a ring. Another year in Cameron has got to be better than being a Wizard.
Cayden's final pass will be remembered, but his lazy pass a few minutes earlier was also devastating.
What a nightmare way to lose! Leaking oil the whole second half. Can't believe it .... or maybe I do. I am so sad.
Pathetic how the refs gave in to Hurley working them the last ten minutes of the first half. Winners write the history so it'll never be mentioned again.
Bilas is dancing on our grave in Instagram.
Will go down as one of the worst plays in Duke history.
To experience that kind of epic collapse two years in a row with title-worthy teams is really painful.
