Oh they will make seem Coach K is behind all of this...no doubt.
I'm not going to pretend to know whether there's anything here to be concerned about, or whether the current coach's status should be in jeopardy.
With that said, hard not to look at the results over her tenure and wonder, if for basketball-related reasons alone, we should explore a change. Program's taken a pretty big step back from where it was under Coach G -- where program made 4 final fours I believe and lost fewer than 5 games in each of her last 7 or 8 years. Actually have to wonder if Coach G would be interested in coming back after the debacle at Texas. That marriage did really work well for a number of years.

According to a link from the link, they went 20-12 this season -- not horrible -- and missed the NCAAT for the first time after 21 years straight. P hasn't had anywhere near G's success, but she's been pretty good.
The transfers, especially Stevens', are pretty concerning, though. And having HR involved, as opposed to a compliance officer, suggests that it's interpersonal, not NCAA violations.

Can you explain them going from one of the best recruiting programs in the land to only landing one top 100 recruit for next season. They just had two number one recruiting classes and a number two recruiting class in recent years. But keep getting worse. Just going by what I've seen on social media from season ticket holders the whole culture around the program has changed in a negative way.
The on court is terrible. There for a while it was Uconn, UT, Maryland, Duke... Uconn still has it but A LOT of other schools have stepped it up while we've fallen way behind. Women's basketball isn't men's but we should be doing better than this.
If there's a problem and some things were done that were wrong then pay the price no matter what. Clean it up and clean it up fast. I'd say the same thing about the men's program if issues came up. OFC

Do they never put any type of performance clause in those contracts? Seems there ought to be an out for something like this, if in fact this is her fault.
From little tidbits I've heard, she's just tough on the girls. Tougher than some can take. I think it's time to search for a new coach for the girls anyway, she ain't no coach G .
I'm not here to argue...just get info. What was the "debacle in Texas?" Didn't they reach the semi-finals this year? Again, I'm not a huge follower, but curious.

She isn't there now. I'm not sure what happened but she tore it up for a long time while she was at texas
An evaluation is normal and wouldn't normally get media attention. I think it's a story because there have been complaints of player and coach mistreatment.
She left Texas a number of years ago. While I certainly don't follow Texas woman's basketball, I did read an article about her tenure at the time of her resignation. She won a grand total of 1 NCAA tourney game in 5 years at Texas, lost 11+ games each season, never won a conference title, and resigned under the weight criticism / unmet expectations. Now coaches as an assistant in the WNBA. A huge fall from someone who was arguably a top 3-4 coach in women's college basketball when at Duke -- from 97-07 Duke finished in the top 10 each of the seasons, went to 7 elite 8s, 4 final fours, 2 national title games.
Fair enough. I just thought it was an investigation into eligibility or something. Just me overthinking again, haha.
