Well, if nothing else, tonight will be a cool night for the Knight's of Bellarmine. Because of Covid-19 complications, the Eagles will play their first game of the season, and inaugural division I game, tomorrow night at Cameron Indoor. Tip is set for 7pm est and the game will air on the ACC Network, streaming online or on ESPN +.

Side note - Bellarmine plays all of its game inside the old Freedom Hall inside the campus of The University of Louisville. Kind of cool.

Duke enters tonight's tilt as a -29.0 favorite, and if they play as disconnected on offense and continue to turn it over, the Eagles will be in this game a lot longer than they should be. We looked as bad as I've seen us look since the Mercer game in 2014 on Tuesday. Hopefully Coach and the staff get that cleaned up.

If you have the Fox regional sports network, they are carrying it on Fox Sport South or you can stream it on ACCNX. I will have to stream it because I have YouTube TV and they dropped the Fox Regional Sports channels!!!

Things I hope to see.
Tape, Williams and Coleman get some time. We will need at least one of them against Illinois.
Baker and Moore hit some shots.
Brakefield continue his good play. If Brakefield shines again and Moore struggles, he needs to start.
Hurt continue his good play.
Roach continue to develop. Roach is our ceiling.
Unless we shoot better, we aren't blowing out anyone. Hope to see that today but I'll take a win and improvement.

I don't mean for this to sound pessimistic because it isn't, but I'll believe this team can blow someone out when I see it. I think this team is a work in progress and I think the ceiling could be high. I just don't think they are in a place where they can/will run a team off the floor. I'd love to be wrong!

Hopefully we see a little more offensive flow and better player/ball movement. I'm sure that has been a big emphasis these last few days.

They are small (no starter over 6-8) but we still need to see Tape and Williams and Coleman as a tune up for Tuesday night. Edit: unless the game is tight we don't need Hurt and JJ for 30 plus minutes.

I think we win handily tonight. I'm really hoping Moore bounces back with a solid offensive performance.

As for the big men, I think if we do not see substantial minutes for them tonight we are going to see a LOT of 5 out offense with Hurt at the 5 this year. If they don't play tonight I think it means the bigs are not the force we hoped they would be and K has set his conference lineup early.

I don’t think it’s an effort or guts thing. I think it’s a competency thing. There is zero cohesion with these guys. Not surprising since it’s a completely new squad and it was a crazy off season, but i won’t question their guts or effort. I see them trying hard, just not in sync.

Please baker just make 1 shot...that would be an improvement.

We just need to cut down on the careless turnovers...way too many it seems every game
