Personally, I'd like to see more Jeter in the 2nd half. I just feel like I see more when he's on the floor than with Plumlee. I know that's probably not the case, but he seems to be a better defensive option than Plumlee, and he a bit more athletic. I hate to say that because I love Plumlee.

Eli Carter is a monster.

Was he a grad transfer? I'm curious, because I follow Gator sports because of family and I remember him being a transfer from Rutgers. I wouldnt think he forfeited a year of eligibility after transferring once already.

Thought I read he picked up a hardship somewhere along the way.

I'm pretty pleased to be up 13 on the road in this team's first true road ACC game. It wasn't always pretty, but those who have been watching this conference longer than a couple seasons know nothing is ever promised. A road win, ugly or pretty, is the same thing. Let's step on their throats here early. I don't want the foul trouble to be a factor later in this game.

They are being very physical with Grayson. Almost borderline dirty. But Christian likes that style of play. I'm going to hate games against BC while he's there.

I think Thornton may be in the dog house since he lost his man under the basket a few minutes ago.

Shots are starting to fall.

And not moving to the ball in the off ball set. He's been in concrete waiting for the ball and that is something K wants him to be better with. We'll see if he can get it back.

Plumlee has to convert that. Did a hell of a job to control the pass though.

Yep. Lucky he got the call. Not much contact there. He's so much more comfortable playing with Amile. He bricks both ft's and BC's on a 10-0 run. Pitiful.

BC shouldn't be making runs. They are not a talented scoring team. Duke just has to take some possessions off occasionally on D to stretch the game with only 2 true bench players. I'd love to see the zone to conserve some energy, but still create defensive problems. Maybe K is saving it for late season play. Or maybe no one has been able to fill Amile's role in the zone yet. Haven't seen it much since he went down.

I like the way the team is falling into place. I hope Amile gets back sooner than expected.

BC isn't very good, but it's the perfect kind of team for us to start with in the opener, on the road. A win is a win is a win. Wednesday night at Wake is going to be a battle.

Absolutely. BC is a team that if Duke plays them non-conference, they probably win 20 early. ACC play has a sense of urgency that the freshmen need to understand and understand quickly. Good win and they won in a way you're supposed to win in the ACC. Out physical your opponent, out hustle your opponent and still play your game in large stretches. Wake is going to bring the house at Duke. The boys better be ready. I don't know that they will be.

Brandon Ingram probably the best player in the ACC. Kennard and Allen capable of going on a scoring run at any time and you got to luv Jones. Matt Jones has that forty year old at the Y game, position and set shot. This team may have weakness but I would hate to have to defend them when they are hitting shots. May go to the Wake game.

Did anyone catch the little nugget from MG that Amile would be lucky to get reps before the ACC tournament??

I usually go to the duke at wake game but decided I had better not, last year's game was stressful enough and that Duke team was far better. I have a feeling Wake wins this year at wake

I had to go to work before K-ville posted this thread. He's getting real slack that old peckerhead. Maybe he needs to put up an OFC with his post. :D I was going to predict Duke 81 B.C. 64 but none of you will believe that but I'll stand by it. OFC Of course I didn't see the game but checked all the stats and comments. Looks like we had some consistency and free throw issues. Was hoping that Jeter would put up some numbers. Seems like today wasn't Capt. Marshall's best day either. Also looks like Brandon is on a roll and really becoming a force. He's gonna be a match up problem for most everyone and am very happy that most of the guys are happy he didn't go to UNC and I agree with them on that. He's for sure not an UNC player. Since I did miss the game I would like to know if B.C. were big and physical up front. I watched the UNC/G.T. game and G.T. has some beef that did give the Heels some problems until G.T. panicked. Smith from G.T. can shoot the three though. I have to agree with dj in saying a win is a win no matter what the scoring margin is. If we win the rest of our games by one or two points we will have our sixth won't we. That's why good free throw shooting is so important. I would like to see this team shoot 75-80 % every game. With as many times as we get to the line we'd be tough to beat but that is asking a lot. So it's W.F. next over at their place. Manning has done a pretty good job with them. We'll need to step it up but I think we go 2-0 in the conf. after that game then it's back home. I got to get more positive about this team and trust Coach K. more. Let's are get together and send out some positive vibs for Amile. OFC

Real good game for ACC opener. You have to consider that we did not shoot well in this game, or it would have been a complete blowout. A few breakdowns, but not really bad defense. Kids did a much better job of switching and helping.
Ingram must bring this type of game every game, which is what a true one and done would do. Luke will eventually find his touch, Matt is playing pretty solid, and Grayson is just so unselfish, it is unreal.
Derryck will get there, and he is playing pretty good in spurts, just going to take a little time. Fun to watch "K" working on him.
Go Duke!!

G-man probably is right. I will be very happy if he is 100% by tourney time. But if that is true at least we will have him for the run. It's still a long time until the and maybe Jeter will come to realize that he is a big time college BB player and start putting up numbers and earn more pt. I still can't feel Obi out. Is he out of shape. Shouldn't be. Does he not understand Duke's style of play. He should because he's in the second year of the Duke system. I don't know. Hope he figures something out. OFC

I think this was our best defense on the perimeter so far this year. Our small lineup helps with the switching and communication must have improved from last game. Wake will put pressure on our inside game and it will hurt to not have Jefferson on Thomas.

ACC road wins are valuable against anyone in the league. Ingram continued his progress, which is the most important thing overall. To use J.J's verbiage, he is "becoming" with each passing game.

Grayson is one tough mother. He bounced his face off the floor, and stayed down about 2 seconds.

I didn't expect Grayson to get up as fast as he did. He could have a nasty bruise tomorrow.

Chase really has a great attitude, if you look at the bench when Duke scores, he is the first one to jump up. You know the Staff is talking to him and trying to build up his confidence, and he is smart enough to know that he is needed very badly. I'm sure the players are trying to help him too, they can see his attitude is great.
He will come through at some time, hopefully a little sooner than later ! I really like this kid and wish him the very best. You're going to have to grow up a little sooner than expected big guy, so Git-er-done!
Go Duke!!

I thought he kind of misspoke and meant to say something like "it will be a good thing for him to get reps before the ACC Tournament" because in the next sentence he said that he thought Amile would be back in mid to late February.
