Gritty win. I still maintain that K refused to adjust here. Perhaps the bigs are regressing in practice, but even with 2 fouls, I though Bolden played very well.

Would be nice for the bigs to come around didn't get to watch the game yet but by what I'm reading it seems the boys were wore out which with the ACC and NCAA tourney coming less then a month that isn't what you want to hear!

I blew this one. Thought the boys would be sharper but it looked like they played with parking brake on. Luke was clutch and I hope Allen's ankle is good for next game. Games like this are why I quit gambling.

Survive and advance.

K said on Thursday after the UNC game that the quick turnaround was going to be like a 10 o'clock game on Thursday and playing earlier on a Saturday in the NCAA Tournament.

Hopefully Grayson's ankle is ok.

The easy thing to do is shoot 3's. I'm not shocked we settled far too often for them today. When you are lethargic and going through the motions you end up chucking up a ton of 3's. I expect us to be back to running through our offensive sets against Virginia. I'm fine with shooting 3's as long as we run through our sets and get a good look instead of pulling up off the dribble.

I think we were just spent from the emotion of Thursday nite and hangover effect from UNC. Naturally as an armchair coach I wondered if we had given Harry and Marques 2nd half burn as well, could we have had more energy for the end??? Harry pulled 5 1st half bds. Still just thrilled w/W, for all the folks who wish to bash me for 2nd guessing.....

I'm so glad we won! I was sweating bullets at the end! Hate when we let teams back in it! Thank goodness for Luke!
Yeah I think this is a game where, as much as fans may want to put it in the rear view it may, like the Wake game, be one we look back to as important, not necessarily because the team gained momentum from this game but more so that they battled enough to preserve it. Even with the adversity this team has overcome already, losing today would have been hard for all parties to swallow and could have undermined some of the progress made. It wasn't pretty at all but maybe that's cause, not just for relief, but also for continued joy. Good teams win different types of games and today was certainly that.

Thank goodness it was at home, that they won and now on to a huge one in Charlottesville.

"This was our best win," K says. "You had a really good Clemson team and you had human nature, man."

3:23 PM - 11 Feb 2017 · Durham, NC

Think of the razor thin margin between our "best win" and upset 2nd home loss. I agree w/K in terms of "human nature" etc, after the UNC game in quick turnaround, but just think we made it too tough on ourselves.

Actually, it should re-focus us for the UVA game, and we did escape the trap game.

Let them back in...maybe Giles and or Bolden would have been rim deterrents late in the game...Clemson attacked the rim pretty easily down the stretch.....Luke was big!!!...#justwinbaby....on to UVA!!

Worked at the lake today but did get to see the game and I feel fortunate we got through with the win. Had some good moment with the D and thank goodness Luke was on. Our free throw shooting almost cost us the game but it's been great the last several games. We can't play like this against UVA and expect to come home with a win. Could we and the team been looking ahead. Maybe. The UVA game is now the biggest game we will play this season do far. But in the end I'm happy happy happy. OFC

Glad we have a little time to recharge the batteries Sky. We're a tired team....I think we will come out ready Wednesday for a very difficult game. Hopefully we can draw on confidence building road wins at Wake and Notre Dame!

Refreshing is huge. Few here thought we'd be 8-4 after our 3-4 start....big game on Wednesday if a regular season title and potential one seed are going to be possible.

The thing is, that hasn't been true as much this season until today. Now let me preface that by saying outside shooting is a big part of our offense, but we had been doing so many things down low and with our mid-range that I felt it was as good of balance as we've had for a while. On Thursday we played a team that doesn't defend the arc and today we played a team that historically plays physical. We backed down from that and settled.

It was ugly....but I'll take an ugly win over an ugly loss.
dj thats a good point you make about today and I won't disagree a bit, however, I tend to over emphasize when we keep shooting the three and missing verses driving to the basket. You are right that today we were more one dimensional than usual but just curious what you contribute that to. I feel it is easier to draw up a three pointer kickout than it is to draw up a back door or screen. Of course I am perfectly fine as a fan when we hit the 3's consistently and I imagine Coach K is also.

I'll disagree with K. Clemson isn't a very good team and our best win was probably at Norte Dame. The boat seemed to get righted then.

Still glad we dug deep and got the win. Go Duke

The ACC is becoming more wide open. With FSU losing to Notre Dame we're only 1 game back of UNC and only half a game back of FSU

I use to twist my ankle A LOT. Sometimes you get lucky and they roll over pretty far, and it just scares you, more then it hurts. Hopefully, that's the case. He had a nice jumper. It needs to stay loose!

I'm pigeon-toed and never turned my ankle and always wondered if that had something to do with it or was it my 12" vertical. OFC

Agree with Crazy. Think it's a stretch to call it our best win over a Clemson team that had lost 8 of its last 11 ACC games, but we did win a huge trap game..I do think we think we have to find more minutes for Frank, think our offense flows best when hes on floor, and less pressure on Grayson...

Up 11 at half. I'll take it. The defense was pretty good and the intensity was a C+/B-. That's actually pretty good considering 36 hours ago we were playing UNC.

The only concern is that we became a little too three reliant, but we made them again.

It was good we were up by 11 at the half. We could have easily lost this one. OFC

That's right. Been thinking the same thing.
We could finish this thing without another loss in the ACC or could lose a couple more. We'll see how that plays out but we're getting closer to the team we though we would have when we were discussing this during the off season. Also instead of being 8-4 we could very well be 11-1 with FSU the only game where we really had our butts handed to us. I don't think there's a team in the nation that's wants to deal with Duke whether it's the ACC or the national tournament. OFC

I was really thin, could jump pretty good, but would come down on ppls feet. It stretched out my ligaments, and it started happening more frequently. It actually still does, just walking down the road and stepping wrong. A friend of mine tells me I have soggy ankles. Ha.

I don't know if there is a correlation between being pigeon toed and less ankle sprains or if you have less soggy ankles then mine, but your fortunate!

I missed the game, but I appreciate everyone's comments about it. It sounds like It sounds like we had a hangover effect and gutted this one out. I agree with Sky, the VA game is going to be huge. If we win that game, I like our chances to win the ACC regular season. It sounds like we need to get more out of our bigs. I was hoping to see Harry get about 16-18 minutes. I guess he hasn't progressed as much as I thought. Oh well, let's go and kick VA's ***! GTHVA, GTH

Jim Spanarkel was pigeon-toed just like me. He's a lot taller than me but back in those years I had dark hair and about the same jumping ability as Jim but our athletic similarities ended there. Played pick up bb every Sunday afternoon back then with a lot of unc fans. My last name begins with Po so they called me Ponarkel and that's where my alternate nickname came from on here when I lost the name skysdad for about 300 post. Thankful to the rivals rep. who got skysdad back. OFC

DukeSince I was hoping Harry would get more mins too paricularly after the quick turnaround from UNC.....Actually he did some nice things today, 5 bds and 2 blocks in 10 mins....(1st half only)

I saw those stats and some negative posts about Amile's play and thought he might have played more. I sure am rooting for the kid, he just seems like a great person.

I'm not sure who Frank should replace but I'm starting to think he has gotta start and get big minutes! He more then covers his few bad turnovers a night. Offensive moves so much better with him on the court

I know who he should replace but it will never happen....Their roles should be reversed IMO...

It's easy to say Matt, but it's not gonna happen! I'm far from convinced taking Matt off the floor is a good move. He makes a ton of plays.

Which is exactly why I didnt say Matty Ice. Sure its him, but think of the play he made to get the loose ball and preserve the win Thursday nite. He also hit a couple 3s today.

I just checked the standings. As it stands now, we have the top 7 ACC teams as road games this year. Obviously that excludes us we can't play ourselves. For people who try to compare 5 loss teams or say we never play road games, we have a gauntlet this year. We will be battle tested by March
