Gritty win. I still maintain that K refused to adjust here. Perhaps the bigs are regressing in practice, but even with 2 fouls, I though Bolden played very well.
Va, stop whining dude. God , you post like my exwife.
Was looking for who you were referring to before I realized they've been on my ignore list so long that I forgot they existed.Va, stop whining dude. God , you post like my exwife.
And I will repeat what I said in another thread on here
We should have our asses kicked for losing to the one man team known as NC State
Yeah I think this is a game where, as much as fans may want to put it in the rear view it may, like the Wake game, be one we look back to as important, not necessarily because the team gained momentum from this game but more so that they battled enough to preserve it. Even with the adversity this team has overcome already, losing today would have been hard for all parties to swallow and could have undermined some of the progress made. It wasn't pretty at all but maybe that's cause, not just for relief, but also for continued joy. Good teams win different types of games and today was certainly that.I'm so glad we won! I was sweating bullets at the end! Hate when we let teams back in it! Thank goodness for Luke!

"This was our best win," K says. "You had a really good Clemson team and you had human nature, man."

Worked at the lake today but did get to see the game and I feel fortunate we got through with the win. Had some good moment with the D and thank goodness Luke was on. Our free throw shooting almost cost us the game but it's been great the last several games. We can't play like this against UVA and expect to come home with a win. Could we and the team been looking ahead. Maybe. The UVA game is now the biggest game we will play this season do far. But in the end I'm happy happy happy. OFC
dj thats a good point you make about today and I won't disagree a bit, however, I tend to over emphasize when we keep shooting the three and missing verses driving to the basket. You are right that today we were more one dimensional than usual but just curious what you contribute that to. I feel it is easier to draw up a three pointer kickout than it is to draw up a back door or screen. Of course I am perfectly fine as a fan when we hit the 3's consistently and I imagine Coach K is also. The thing is, that hasn't been true as much this season until today. Now let me preface that by saying outside shooting is a big part of our offense, but we had been doing so many things down low and with our mid-range that I felt it was as good of balance as we've had for a while. On Thursday we played a team that doesn't defend the arc and today we played a team that historically plays physical. We backed down from that and settled.
It was ugly....but I'll take an ugly win over an ugly loss.
The ACC is becoming more wide open. With FSU losing to Notre Dame we're only 1 game back of UNC and only half a game back of FSURefreshing is huge. Few here thought we'd be 8-4 after our 3-4 start....big game on Wednesday if a regular season title and potential one seed are going to be possible.
I use to twist my ankle A LOT. Sometimes you get lucky and they roll over pretty far, and it just scares you, more then it hurts. Hopefully, that's the case. He had a nice jumper. It needs to stay loose!
I'll disagree with K. Clemson isn't a very good team and our best win was probably at Norte Dame. The boat seemed to get righted then.
Still glad we dug deep and got the win. Go Duke
Up 11 at half. I'll take it. The defense was pretty good and the intensity was a C+/B-. That's actually pretty good considering 36 hours ago we were playing UNC.
The only concern is that we became a little too three reliant, but we made them again.

I'm pigeon-toed and never turned my ankle and always wondered if that had something to do with it or was it my 12" vertical. OFC
I was really thin, could jump pretty good, but would come down on ppls feet. It stretched out my ligaments, and it started happening more frequently. It actually still does, just walking down the road and stepping wrong. A friend of mine tells me I have soggy ankles. Ha.
I don't know if there is a correlation between being pigeon toed and less ankle sprains or if you have less soggy ankles then mine, but your fortunate!
I missed the game, but I appreciate everyone's comments about it. It sounds like It sounds like we had a hangover effect and gutted this one out. I agree with Sky, the VA game is going to be huge. If we win that game, I like our chances to win the ACC regular season. It sounds like we need to get more out of our bigs. I was hoping to see Harry get about 16-18 minutes. I guess he hasn't progressed as much as I thought. Oh well, let's go and kick VA's ***! GTHVA, GTH
I saw those stats and some negative posts about Amile's play and thought he might have played more. I sure am rooting for the kid, he just seems like a great person.DukeSince I was hoping Harry would get more mins too paricularly after the quick turnaround from UNC.....Actually he did some nice things today, 5 bds and 2 blocks in 10 mins....(1st half only)
OFC
I'm not sure who Frank should replace but I'm starting to think he has gotta start and get big minutes! He more then covers his few bad turnovers a night. Offensive moves so much better with him on the court
It's easy to say Matt, but it's not gonna happen! I'm far from convinced taking Matt off the floor is a good move. He makes a ton of plays.
