We are losing 26-19 in the second half. I don't like that. Opens the door for ad habits. I don't think we are playing as hard in the second half. Elon is playing harder though. We may not score 100 unless we go on a roll. Pretty soon it's bench time. OFC

The final score was impressive but we shouldn't have been out scored and played in the second half. We should have extended the lead. Good thing we had such a big 1st half lead and it was Elon. OFC

Yeah, really in their defense, when you get up that big it is hard to keep your concentration. Frustrating for us to watch as fans, but a young team can lose focus in a hurry. I've seen veteran teams do the same thing.
In the end, they really played well for most of the game and you have to be proud of them. Hopefully they will come out Wednesday with a lot of energy, and continue to improve.
Go Duke!!

Stayed away from the game thread. Got home from a meeting at 845 and started it from the beginning.

Thought the ball movement in the first half was incredible. Got us a lot of open looks and a lot of points. Really excited by that.

I was happy to see Thornton in the starting lineup again. That pull up jumper of his is becoming lethal. Strong game I thought.

Great game for Luke. Shots were falling and I hope that's the spark he needs to start filling it up.

Ingram has been putting in better and better performances, but I think the thing he has improved most is his effort if that makes sense. If he keeps that up he'll just keep dominating.

I think Jeter is coming along. I also liked that Obi really took advantage of this opportunity

Thought our defense was pretty solid but could improve. We just took our foot off the gas in the 2nd half in all phases. Can't wait until we put up a whole game like that first half against UNCheat.

Matt had to come back in because Derryck started cramping badly.

Obi still has a bit to go, but that kid cannot be moved on the block. If you put he and Marshall in the lane, not many teams would be able to rebound with them (especially with Brandon at the 3). Vrank is much more mobile than I thought, he just looks like he needs to learn the sets. Thornton is sneaky fast and some of his passes, wow! Ingram is better than I thought - he can almost score at will with his length.

I'll add more tomo - I'm tired from watching 70 points, in-person, in the 1st half alone. Lol.

I was hoping to see us dominate in the second half like we did in the first half and even though for a good portion of the second half they were outscoring us, we ended up coming back and making the scoring even in the second at 35 points a piece

Matt didn't come out until the walk-on's came in at like 1:10, and then he came back in when DT was cramping.. So we had a starting Junior in with a 40 point lead.. He should have been out at the 4:00 mark, at the very latest.

Sorry I didn't post last night fellas, I played in a pretty big Hold'em game last night, got home at 3. Just watched the game. I feel like good things are taking shape. The best thing, Ingram. I think he finally realized it. He has to play with urgency, and he is now. I could not be happier. He's hustling big time now and when he does, wow. His passing is amazing as well although Jeter flubbed several sweet ones Brandon sent him. Jeter is growing on me. Great shot blocker. Good defense. He just doesn't have that great first step after receiving the ball under the basket. I think he'll get that. Once he does he's going to be a nice player. Totally bummed we lost Amile, if we had him, we'd be in great shape right now. I hope he's able to return. Kennard, loving it. He's just so good at the little things. He moves the ball through traffic like a well oiled machine, his 3 is really coming into form now and who doesn't want HIM on the stripe with the game on the line? Over 94% now? I hope we improve on defending points in the paint, it's really gonna kill us this season if we don't fix it. Of course Amile would really help that situation along with rebounding, but we have to work with what we have. If Derryck keeps improving, we may be ready to play some ball come conference play. Got my fingers crossed.

Has more to do with what happened in the first half. It is hard to dominate like that and go 110% when you have a rotation of 7 guys, 5 games in under two weeks, and then there is the show of respect for your opponent as well. Once Duke dropped 70 in the first half, a "let down" was inevitable.

If there hadn't been a letdown, I would have been questioning the humanity of our players.

There was no one to put in at that point. Duke needs the practice - I take K's judgement on this one.
