Tatum is definitely the most NBA-ready player I've seen at Duke in a loooong time (and Okafor was very NBA-ready).. the kid is so smooth.

I really wish Grayson wouldn't have been allowed to play again...

A kid although younger than Grayson once told me that he could control his temper but he chose not to. This kid was 16 years old and had some temper issues. Wonder if that's Grayson's problem in that he just simply chooses not to control his temper. OFC

Grayson is a distraction again this year. Coach needed to send a statement and did not by playing him.

I just hope the next ten days bring some good practices and working guys into shape and a flow...

We're just kind of 'blah' right now as a team. I can't help but wonder if lack of chemistry is a huge issue for this team.

Everyone probably needs to calm down over Grayson and the teams sudden poor play. There might be something going on we don't know about and doubt we ever will know. We are in a horrible funk for some reason and it could have something to do with Grayson or other players. Whatever it is, we don't need to start hating Grayson just yet. He's still a member of the team.

I certainly wouldn't doubt if team timing is way off. It doesn't seem to be the chemistry issues they dealt with the year Austin was here. Everything I've heard is that the guys love playing with each other. They just don't play well together yet.

They're obviously better with Allen on the court. He's been the closest thing to a PG they have this year IMO. Better figure out something for a game or three when he's suspended.

I really think Grayson's behavior effected the team tonight and no hate on Grayson he just need to get himself in check whatever it takes. OFC

One last thing about Grayson and it will be it for me . If he can't get it together when he gets into the league he's gonna get his but whipped a few times. After that maybe he will choose to get his temper under control. OFC

We're top five or six based on talent alone. It's just if we're what experts call a team, or rather, individuals.

These last two games what stood out most to me was a complete lack of emotion. It looked like we went through the motions. The most depressing factor, IMO, is that with all the talent we have we're essentially playing six guys. That's concerning. Plus, I have to imagine we're going to be without Grayson for at least a couple games in ACC play.

I know we have talent, but talent alone doesn't always win games. Especially when we get into ACC play. We just beat a 7-4 mid-major by 11 points. They had no business being in that game. If the argument is talent, then this game should have been a blood bath. At some point, the talent has to come together to be a cohesive unit.

Grayson should not have been allowed back in that game. He should be suspended for the next. It's embarrassing and it's got to stop.

That's being said, we just aren't putting it together right now. I'm guessing that will take care as itself as lineups start getting a bit more set.

What exactly is wrong with Bolden that he plays so little?

Allen deserves to be suspended and K had no business playing him in the second half. No chemistry at all on this team right now and some of it may be Allens fault.

I'm really not too concerned....

- this team is just figuring out who they are as Tatum is 5 games in, Bolden is 4, and Giles is 2 (in 2+ years)
- Allen has struggled with injury
- they aren't practicing much 5 on 5
- this team can buckle down and defend when needed

My questions:

- is Bolden really healthy?
- should they give Frank more PT as the 1? Does that sacrifice not having Jonea in for D?

Duke has ONE loss but that was very short handed against a top 10 team (on a last-second shot). It sure feels like they're 3 or 4 losses deep!

Let's see K get them adjusted, and on a positive note, he seemed to go deeper today on the bench.

Side note - suspend Allen 2 or so games. Let him find his head and get re-focused.

If K doesn't suspend Allen, I'm going to lose some serious respect for the man. Enough is enough. Rece Davis said it best, he's behaving like a petulant child.
