1. I really hope we can stick with the starting lineup we rolled out last night, for the rest of the year.
2. If Grayson can become a primary distributor, we will be unstoppable on offense. Would love to see him become a more efficient scorer too, score less but on much less shots.
3. I'm completely fine with Jayson shooting open 3's in rhythm. We need him to score like the All-American he is capable of being for us to reach our ceiling.
4. I like the duo of Frank and Matt off the bench for some offensive/defensive punch!
5. Luke gonna Luke.

6. Harry had 10 and 12 in 17 minutes. What if he played 34 minutes? Can he go for 20 and 24???????????????????

I think the biggest difference between Va Tech and Ga Tech was that against Va Tech we looked like a bunch of individuals who were being forced to play basketball when they would rather have been doing something else. Last night we looked like a team who was having a blast and playing with and for each other instead of just themselves.

Remember boys one loss doesn't define us, give our boys a chance to fight back and they did. Bad games happen, don't let the board melt down!

That's a nice thought but rest assured the next time we lose, especially if similar to the way we lost to Virginia tech, the board will go right back into panic meltdown mode. Expectations are sky high this year like many years and frustrations come out in all sorts of ways.

Not all losses and wins are created equal. Even if we hadn't shot well last night we would have still won big because of the effort and unselfishness.

If we lose because someone shoots lights out and we shoot terrible that's one thing, if we lose because there's no effort and a lot of selfish play like Vtech it should be an issue. It would mean the team hasn't truly bought in. The team can control how hard and unselfish it plays much easier than it can control how well we shoot from 3 and how well the other team shoots.

Important play of game no one noticed. Grayson drove & collided hard with GT player in lane then helped him up. Hopefully this is a sign that Grayson learned his lesson.

I'll play devil's advocate and say that's easy to do in a non-competitive game like this. Let's see he and Rathan-Mayes (who he has a long history with beyond last year) do that in a highly competitive game in Tallahassee.

I expect Giles will look much different in March after two good months of practice and playing....he's still rusty and a bit lost on defense but that will change with repetitions and getting into better shape....

Big thing for me with Giles is for him to get his motor back. He doesn't have it right now. Rebounding nicely, but slow to get up and down the court

Early last season I recall cringing at Ingram putting up 3 after 3 after 3 in Nov and Dec. By February they started falling with consistency and made his drives to the basket even more effective as defenses had to close out on him outside the arc. I see Tatum on a similar path. JMHO.

Can't wait to see how things develop over the next month!

Tatum just needs to take open and on balance 3's. He took a few off balance ones last night.

I don't think his motor is the problem. I think he's tentative and he's not quite in game shape. You can tell he wants to do certain things, but his body won't let him.

Instead of his motor, I want his awareness on D to increase. In the past he could recover from some mistakes. Right now he can't. He needs to be in position to help better. He'll see it on tape.

If Harry can turn into an elite rim-protector (which he is projected to be at the NBA level) than our defense will go to a whole new level. Possibly even an elite top 10 level. Now obviously, he has a long way to go to become that.

I love Amile, and he can rebound with the best of them. But he is not a rim protector, he's a positional rebounder.

Bolden can help at the rim as well. He had a few nice plays last night that showed that with effort, he can provide that.

This must be your first year on here. The sky will be falling regardless. No board out there handles their team losses well, ours is no exception. Yes the panic will be more severe if there is another v tech like game, I mentioned that. But there will be a meltdown regardless that is just as sure as the sky is blue. I like our board, I think we have less dramatic people with less over the top knee jerk reactions as other boards (a lot less than THR and RR) but we still have our share for sure.

Where he almost got the steal, he then was so slow to get back that the person he was guarding got a layup. Call it motor, in shape, hustle, whatever, i just feel like he's not getting up and down the court well. With that said, it's better than it was 2 weeks ago. So i believe he will keep improving.

I do agree about not being in the best position all the times, he gave up an easy basket or two because of being mentally lazy on D.

Not first year here, and I have a descent understanding of the board and its participants. I've never been a big Rah Rah person. I've always moved on from wins really quick and still tried to find ways to get better, so that's where my thoughts are on the message board. "What needs to happen to give Duke the best chance to cut down the nets in April."

I was extremely concerned over duke's lack of effort vs vtech. That wasn't the case vs Gtech, but i'm not ready to say all is better. We'll see next week vs FSU and Louisville. They don't need to dominate those games, but it's a great opportunity to show the talent and duke style of basketball vs good teams on their court.

I agree he's not getting up and down well yet. He had a couple of tipped passes that in March I bet end up being steals and dunks.

I think motor implies an unwillingness to do something. I don't think unwilling defines Harry at all. Bolden, maybe, Harry not at all. Just a vernacular thing, I'm being picky.

Yea, there's a reason nobody commented on this . As soon as Grayson looked to be helping him up, the camera cut away.

and I meant motor as it seems like he's pacing himself because he's not back in game shape yet. So all is good, as long as he keeps improving! :)
