So I’m watching that game a little since nothing else is on, and for some reason, I’ve always hated Illinois even before we played them in the bowl. Duke is winning three to nothing and playing inspired. They must a punt in Illinois recovered down around the Duke 18.

Illinois goes to throw the ball, their QB side step a blitzing linebacker, and Duke defensive tackle was right there to hit the quarterback, and the Illinois offensive lineman pulled a WWE wrestling move on the lineman. Now mind you, this is the closest guy to the quarterback, in open field, and the referee called nothing … Wow. it was basically a hip toss move.

I see no need to understate the lost opportunity that game represented. Already having sustained more defections than Illinois, our braintrust assisted the opponent still further.
