This could very well be Derryck's coming out party. Not that he had some outstanding game, but he has been on the floor at the 1 an awful lot. I'm ok with that.

Yeah. He's the key this season I recon he will be the starting PG by Jan.

I told you we would lose this game. I also told you we will be way better later. We will. If you're ready to throw in the towel now, you're an idiot. Many here did that bs last year after the State and MIAMI losses. Those same guys were here shakin their damn Pom pons when we won it all. K has a lot of work to do, but hey, K knows how to do work. Thornton is gonna be great, he's just not settled yet.

The players have put a leash on themselves. No one but Grayson and Marshall have wanted to take over. That will have to change. Everyone is good enough to seek their shot. They have to believe it though.

LOL @ ESPN trolling us by showing a 'Sheed / Maryland highlight during a timeout.

It was a very forced highlight too.. A basic dribble drive pass in a game against an unranked team.

Crank are you being serious. That is one of the craziest things I've read in years. Murray is clowning our boys as is Ulis.
I do think TT looked very good. Ingram looked more like a 3 year player than a OAD. Luke just missed on several shots. Marshall was great. Amile was very good. Matt I must say, shocked me with very good play. We will be fine as long as Grayson learns to pull up and shoot once in a while.

Two turnovers to finish the game seems about right....a lot to learn from this and improve - Guard play is key so hopefully we dont meet too many great guards for a while...11 pt loss playing very poorly except Plumlee/Amile...can only get better

Tough game but we fought to the end. Proud of those kids.

DT looked better and better, more assertive.

Jefferson played great.

Bad game for Grayson, but I'm confident he will rebound and grow in his new leadership role. Ingram will learn a lot too.

Keep working hard fellas.

I disagree. Amile, and Matt have played pretty good. The young guys, including Grayson haven't come to play. A lot of games to get better.

I always appreciate your perspective.

I wanted to see how our younger players would respond and it wasn't pretty. I think anyone with a sense of reality knew we may have some growing pains. I was still very disappointed with our FT shooting, a lot of games are won and loss from the line.

lol. You clearly are listening on the radio. Murray has ball skills to drive and can shoot. Jones cannot drive and dish like Murray.
I an clearly watching on the TV, and again, he's good, he's just not the best guard in the nation, the way many are building up to be.

I agree, Dbav. Our players kept playing. I don't like to lose, but a lot can be learned from a loss. We might take a few lumps but I believe we've got the pieces to make a deep run by March.

This had nothing to do with Kentucky. Duke wasn't ready. We played young. Unfortunately we were use to last year and looking young. This team was bad tonight. They can and will get better, but we clearly bare not ready for the big time right now

Welp, as with some of you, I am not panicked. Frustrated? Certainly, but I trust that K will wake their asses up soon. Ingram needs to grow up a bit, Grayson needs to settle down, DT is coming around, and MP3 and Amile need to keep playing like men. They were beasts tonight.

Thanks, Duke90. And as you said, as bad as we played if we could have made some fts (especially Grayson who is excellent) this game possibly could have been within reach to steal it.

Yes, UK is a nice team. But both of these squads would have gotten run out of the gym by last year's teams. Murray's good. But, with the exception of Ullis, not sure any of the guys starting tonight would have played over their counterparts from last year's team. I mean the three ancillary pieces of Duke's championship team (Jones, Plumlee, Jefferson) combined for 48 points and 25 rebounds and largely dominated the front court of UK. The game was lost b/c Allen played a shockingly bad game and the freshmen were atrocious. Aside from a few good moments for Thornton, the rest of the freshmen seemed in over their head.

Ingram's going to have better nights in the future. But got to say I'm concerned about his maturity level. Seemed to stop competing hard when things started going against him. As bad as Allen was -- and he was atrocious, at least I never felt as if he stopped trying.

You're serious? Go to the nearest hospital and commit yourself

You know I don't like losing either, I hate it. But there is no reason to act like that towards others. You are allowed all day to have strong opinionated thought about the game, but don't act like a clown towards other posters here.

That game was rather meh on both sides. Even the atmosphere/crowd which I thought would be electric was off. Huge overall disappointment.

We'll be fine as a team though.

Duke will not play a better group of guards. Glad to see Thorton play well. Ullis to me is the best pure guard in college right now. Thorton looked quick, made some dumb passes. Proud of our bigs. Ingram will get better, tons of upside. Grayson is the only one who kind of worries me. Blueprint is out on him. I say have him coming off the bench again and let him just come in and score. That is just my opinion. Only the third game of the year and we will learn a lot from this game! Go Duke!

I'm happy as a clam that my Kentucky boys won tonight but ultimately this game means very little, aside from bragging rights. Both of these teams will grow a lot in the next 3 months and should they meet again it'll be a very different game for both sides. You guys got a good team and they'll be fun to watch.

Let's be honest- nobody knows who is going to win. These two teams are both brand new teams from last year and neither fan base knows what to expect from their specific team. Kentucky fans will act like they do, but they don't. Just gonna be a great game but ultimately it won't mean anything for March.

Having said that, Duke wins. Why? We have K. They have Cal.
You can have Kay. We have Cal.

Really when u get down to it we lost by 11 playing the absolute worst we could possibly play with a group of YOUNG guys that really just aren't ready and a of (who will be very good and showed flashes) that's has had little time with the guys. We will be alright but I do think we will take a few lumps before ACC play. I just hope we get it together and beat them heels

This is the game I worried about on the pre-conference schedule. UK came out on top but, you guys have a good group that will get better. UL fans are now saying they will finish ahead of you guys in the conference after this game. I needed a good laugh and they came through. Here is to you guys stomping a mud hole in their butts.
