This was my first thought...if there was any question that play didn’t help one bit.

Have to give Roy Williams credit he has done a good job with this team. Luke Maye walked on at Carolina.
No they don’t. Roy game planned like he should. Duke got out played there is not one player Roy couldn’t game plan for and Kenny Williams took Barret our the game
Yeah that game was more about UNC then Duke. I thought we fought our *** off. They are just better then us without Zion
Schedule for UNC helped a lot too this season. They are a good team, but didn’t go to UVA FSU Va Tech or Syracuse all teams that finished in top 6 or 7 in conference makes a huge difference
I'd posted that maybe Baker could have been an X factor but he saw no time despite a short bench...AC's and White shot making was zero...but White was a demon on defence...we just need a 3rd option...in the past our PG gets us 15-20....but Tre doesnt and we have no one else...so we are left with a 2 man team.
You cannot play the same 5 guys for 20 minutes and expect them to not get tired. Carolinas bench is much more developed than ours. Oh well, hopefully Zion returns but I am not sure everything will be right with the world if he returns. According to everyone on here it will be. I hope they are right
Without Bolden and Zion it basically turned us into the 2014 team with Reddish and Barrett having to carry the load and force things just like Parker and Hood. Incredibly frustrating and disappointing end to the regular season

I love RJ. Im glad he’s on our team. I like how aggressive and intense he is every game. Scoring is his role on this team. Not sure why he gets criticized so much. When he is depended on to score most of our points, he is going to make mistakes. Only one other guy was looking for his shot tonight and that was Cam.
Love this team, and we’ve had bad luck losing a starter in each game we have played UNC. Hope we regroup and get a shot in the arm if Zion comes back next week.

I still few like with Zion we are a better team. Just my opinion and doesn’t mean anything hopefully we get the chance to see it next Friday night
No it’s not. He bought into the college experience. Luck had nothing to do with it. They guarded and made Duke play college ball. Where is Kenny Williams on the draft boards yet he took RJ completely off his game.
Dude, they have to be insanely hot to compete with good teams. Hell we were down two starters and they still had to hit 11 3's to compete, AT HOME. They aren't that good, they are lucky. They resemble so many teams we've had before, especially the 2012 team. With Zion back they are going to be hammered in the ACCT.
Losing 3 of their last 6 games doesn’t bode well for a national championship, Zion’s injury aside.

Disagree, IPSY. With Zion, and if we get Bolden back, we're going to cut down the nets for our 6th natty. Other people might not think so, but no one in college ball can lose the amount of starters we've lost and expect to win against a rival such as UNC. It hurts, but this stretch of games has made Duke better prepared for when Zion and hopefully Marques get back.

Some of you need to either take a break from posting or try using some logic before you turn your fingers loose. We are without 2 starters, they know to focus on 2 players because nobody else is a threat, and they still have to have an incredible game to beat us.
You take 2 starters off any team in america and see what happens to them. If you want to be miserable and constantly complain about this short handed team, then maybe we need to make a thread titled: Rant & Raves and you guys post there. We have truly lost one game with a full deck, and yet some can't understand that. Zion will play next Thursday and then some of you will still find something to complain about, or not post much.
These guy have more heart then any of us can imagine. And who cares if Duke is a healthy 1 or 2 seed? Do it really matter that much with the playing field even. Who in the heck would want a healthy Duke team as their 2 seed?

The way this team has played without Zion makes me skeptical that we can win it all even when Zion comes back. All it will take is a poor shooting night - which is pretty frequent with this team - and Zion in foul trouble and we can lose to a lot of good teams in the Sweet Sixteen and beyond.
The only silver lining to the way Duke has played without Zion is that Tre Jones will definitely be back next season. He's not ready for the NBA and it's extremely unlikely any scouts or teams still view him as a 1st round player this year.

I think the refs had as much to do with this as Williams did.
I guess I’m the only one here that understands we win that game tonight with Zion. No Zion, No Bolden and we fought the entire way. We show up healthy and the ACC TOURNAMENT is ours, you write that **** down.
