We can't give up 20 and 6 to a frosh Penn St guard I don't care who is hurt. Granted, psu bball is on the rise but honestly we should beat them handily with white vrank javin obi robinson pags and whoever else is sitting on the end.

Very frustrated with the defensive performance and like everyone else, the injuries are starting to become infuriating. I just wish our team could be healthy. I just hope they(Bolden, Tatum, and Giles) are ready by at least December, and if not December then in time for conference play. I'm starting to grow concerned about the ability of this team we have right now on the floor moving forward into the season without our three guys. Hope Jeter gets better as well.

That is silly. You are taking for granted how hard it is to win basketball games.

From the sound of everyone here, I'm glad I was in the woods hunting and not at home watching the game. I guess I'll skip the replay. I take it we are still being bit by the injury bug and the team is still not playing with chemistry. It'll get turned around soon.

Yeah nothing's going to come easy until healthy. We just have to be happy for W'S!!! If not for K and a great staff, we would be in major trouble with the group we have.

Allen is a concern, he hasn't looked like himself yet

Better figure out how to play defense quick. Whoever wins between Cincy and URI is going to be even stiffer competition.

I've never seen a team struggle to get and stay healthy more than this. Grayson hasn't played like himself yet this year. He needs to start if we're going to survive without those 3 freshman. And how after 4 plus years does Amile still suck at the free throw line?

Disappointing game. The three main things that bothered me were amiles fts, the absolute laziness in transition D, and effort on half court D. Grayson is shooting poor and I believe it's affecting other parts of his game.

Matt and frank played solid.

I assume small ball tomorrow.

I don't think it's affecting other parts of his game. He rebounded very good today and moved the ball around well. I think the big issue is his 3 isn't really hitting and hey, it's a 3 ball, that's how it goes sometimes.

I thought he was lazy getting back, and was driving and jumping with no intent to shoot. Trying to do too much imo. But I agree he fought for rebounds.

Some players just never become good free throw shooters. Look at Shaq he played 18+ years in the NBA but he was still a terrible free throw shooter

sorry if I have missed what I'm looking for elsewhere but can anyone provide me an update on Chase??? Know the game hasn't been over for any really long length of time but I was just hoping that someone on here might know or have heard something reliable and informative.

Had to work today so not up on the game. Just hoping Jeter is not serious and Grayson gets back on track. Tomorrows game suddenly becomes a toughie. OFC

The squad we have available, can win most games. Just need to be much better then today. Defense was just plain dismal

When will Frank start? Just thinking MAYBE Duke can get off to a faster start?

Probably tomorrow. We won't have any other guys.

I think Grayson is dinged up right now too. That's probably contributing some to his poor play. On top of that, he's just slumping. It happens.

Not worried whatsoever about Amile at the FT line. He's never going to be a good FT shooter. I knew that long before today.

As great as Luke is as an offensive player, he's a complete-180 when it comes to defense. Sometimes it looks like lack of effort too. Maybe that's just me.

I thought Amile (besides the FTs), Matt and Frank were all pretty good today....but will need to be even better tomorrow.

Sounding like Grayson has a version of Turf Toe. People, that hurts and definitely takes some spring out of your step.

We are four games into the season and playing with some players thought to be way down the bench. Not to mention you might as well call Big V a frosh he hasn't played that much especially not last year, this was for all purposes expected to be just a learning year for Javin and White, Grayson has averaged what? Thirty five minutes atleast his first four games along with Luke. Both dukes main scoring option seeing everyone's best defense and basically getting switched and stuck to like glue by their defenders. Yeah Jackson is in the game mostly with Luke and Grayson so it's pick your poison by the other team and I don't think they mind Frank scoring 30 as long as Grayson and luke aren't doing the same.

I don't see the issues, these kids are giving it their best with one player coming off the bench besides Frank so I might be in the minority here but they are kids so yes they are gonna break at some point and with them playing for Duke and they are number one right now with out three elite frosh yeah to only have lost one game with only Grayson being a true known consistent scorer I'll take that!

Had to watch the replay today. I can see why we have some downers , but I didn't really see it that way.

First, we didn't crush them, but we were always in control in the second half. I never once believed the game was in doubt.

Second, when we lost Jeter it looked like we lost a lot of our interior defense. We had to run a zone a lot and that kept it close in my opinion. The score isn't that close if our best 7' player doesn't leave the game in the first 5 minutes. I hope he is okay as he has been showing improvement every game.

Third, I thought Matt played well. Kennard is likely our best offensive option at the moment. Frank is getting more assertive in each game. And I think Grayson is still forcing things. He needs to relax a little. I don't mean that as far as effort, but more in his leadership.

Overall, I thought we played well considering we lost Jeter so early on. We'll get rested and take this thing tomorrow.

RI looks like they start two 6'9" guys down low. Normally that wouldn't be a mismatch for us but if Jeter can't go they have the size advantage. Javi and Vrank might come in for a spell but don't see any long lengths of time.

We should've handled them by 20 with Chase getting sidelined anyway. Gave up way to many layups. Confident we can come back and win tomorrow, but have to get back and play better D. Short handed, we still have superior talent.

Heheh, I keep hearing about all this superior talent. Newsflash, half of our frigging team is hurt.the BEST half. You want blowouts? Nah. Giles bench. Tatum bench. Bolden bench. Jeter bench. Obi bench. Grayson injured. I'm happy with one point wins TIL we get healthy.

I agree...I don't care how much we win by as long as we win. To paraphrase Dom from The Fast & Thd Furious "it don't matter if you win by a point or 10 points, winning is winning"

I was lucky enough to get tickets for today. We played lethargic and we were sloppy in all areas. Too many turnovers and very poor in transition d and closing out on shooters. With that said once Jeter went down our rotation went down to about 5. That takes a toll folks. From that point on we were just trying to get out of there with a W and we did

I know; it was just a joke.
MPM I wasn't referencing your comment, I knew you were joking when you said he was a dunking machine. He struggles to jump that high;).I was making a statement that he is our old trooper and just wants to do what he can to help us win.

The great thing about this is our bench will come in ready to fight! When the great 3 come back to health and get pushed to the wall. That will make our team much stronger! Grayson will be fine. He just feels way more responsible than he should.
