Duke and UK have been the most underwhelming teams full of young NBA talent with preseason hype I have ever seen
A loss was coming, they've played better the last 7 games, but could never learn to put teams away, and when all teams play you like it's the national championship, you can't play to their level of mediocrity.
Agree he is way off from that. Awful tonight and doesn't bode well for the next game either.
Playing for a 3, 4 or 5 seed here on out. It depends on how they finish this last three tough games. They really need to win this weekend now.
I thought Bolden was a potential one and done? He could have had a field day with their bigs but can't help team at all picking splinters
I'm glad Duke gave us fans a 7 game win streak because this could be the start of a horrible ending to the season. They could easily lose out. If the remainder of the teams doesn't run a zone they are ignorant
We needed this game despite winning the last 7. We gave this game to them. Just horrible all the way around. We killed them on the offensive boards and had nothing to show for it! Grayson looked horrible. I don't like our chances in Miami either to be honest.

We will not be able to stop their penetration and we have traditionally not played well at Miami.
I don't think Duke gave the game away. That's shortsighted. Syracuse played pretty well down the stretch and made some shots. They deserve credit too. And Syracuse is a decent team....people have to remember we're not a great team or unbeatable.
Grayson's injury is really bothering him. He's in a massive slump right now. Jayson was great the first half and I thought he didn't get enough touches down the stretch. Luke was amazing. Our last possession? It looked like a mess the whole time.
Oh well....when we were 3-4 I think a lot of people would have taken 10-5 at this juncture. Have to go get a win in Coral Gables on Saturday....anything less is unacceptable.

64 possessions with over half resulting in a 3 attempt. We started trying to get Luke into the zone at the FT line and that looked like we had a plan. That was abandoned and became a carnival 3pt shooting contest - and we didnt win the stuffed animal in the second half. Not even a gold fish. It may be too late to file this in the good loss to learn from because it seems they havent learned to be ruthless from any of the other losses
They just gave us 7 in a row and lost one at the buzzer. Settle down people. We're ok.
Agree but Duke historically doesn't play well at Miami, especially we they are in a must win position.
Duke always seems to let someone from their opponent have a career night. Tonight that was John Gillon.
When you don't play defense and you rely on the 3 as much as Duke does you become easy to beat.
Still not sure what we're doing with Giles and Bolden. Harry looked like he was doing pretty well and holding his own in there.

Terrible last possession, horrible performance. Not nearly enough inside presence. Allen was 2-11, Matt 1-6, Jackson 0-4, Kennard missed 11 shots as well. I can't understand why Bolden didn't get at least 1 minute! He's 6-11, 260 and looked like Obi sitting over there. Giles was 3-3 and Jefferson was 3-4. Plus we had 3 guards with 4 fouls each. Is Allens foot that much of a problem? Last 4 games he couldn't hit sand if he fell off a camel
You're right Show, but this was hard to take when they had it in hand and just executed poorly on both ends.
Tonight was unacceptable. Syracuse isn't that good. It's simply that tonight we were awful, no other way to put it. Didn't do hardly anything offensively inside and we have all these 'studs'. Sorry but tonight was nearly as bad as the loss against State. You are correct though that Grayson's foot must really be bothering him
This was one Duke had to have. It's the way they loss that hurts. This is still a fragile team and a poor loss could send them into another tailspin. They lost this game. Cuse didn't win his one.
Here's my thoughts from at the game, we can't play every game close and expect to win them all. We don't seem to ever step on the throats of our opponent. Eventually a team is going to go on fire late and burn us, it happened tonight.
I believe the season is on the line In the Miami game, it's a must win. Yeah we will still be in the tournament but if they are do anything they need this win. If they lose, it would be two game losing streak and FSU & UNC ahead. It could get bad going into the tournaments. Buckle up boys, it's now to step up.

I disagree. While we were awful and have improvements to make, how do you not give credit to some of the shots they were making? Battle and Gillon hit some ridiculous and well guarded shots. It just seems shortsighted to say a team lost the game, yet a team and hit shot after shot didn't win it.
