Is why recruits will come to play for K. No other coach in college basketball can get 5 exhausted players to forget they're tired and have them truly believe they are going to win. Note: I did not say "can" win. No other coach in college basketball can inspire 5 kids to play like they did against those odds. Every time we got close, we fell back. Every time we fell back we came back. When I play the game back in my minds eye, I get choked up. Had it been UNC that won with five, it would have blown up the internet. Servers would have melted down from traffic to and from websites everywhere. The talking heads would be tripping over their mic wires, writers' keyboards would be smoking.
None of that matters. Every future basketball star that is old enough to understand the game, old enough to know who K is and the Duke brand, saw first hand what can happen when Talent, Heart, Courage, Belief and most of all Love, come together. They played for K. They played for each other. They Were DUKE
