Duke just isn't a very good TEAM. Immensely talented, not very good.

Geez guys, its one bad game, just turn the flippin channel or go spend time with your family and HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Our problems are mental, not physical. We're a collection of individual players having trouble playing as a team. All that said, Grayson Allen is sorely missed.
I still have hope our guys can get a little run going in the 2nd half that will allow them to compete for a chance to win this game.

Damn, some of you just need to choose a new team to root for. With all the injuries and Grayson's suspension it is going to take a while for this team to click. I don't like some of the body language I've seen, but I still feel like we will turn the corner. It will take time, but we will get there.
We look like all 5 of our guys are playing 1 on 1 offense. And defense, yeah that's not really being used in this game. That's to say nothing about the complete lack of rebounding that's taking place.
When you don't have an identity it's hard for players to buy in.
Tatum has been shooting awful since he came back.

I haven't posted on here since last year and the reason why is all the negativity from the fair weather fans. There are people here talking crap about K and our players. Seriously? Think of all the chemistry issues we have because of all the injuries. This team has had to face a great deal of adversity and I believe before it is all said and done they will get it together. Will it happen in the second half of this game? It's possible, though not probable based on the play we saw in the 1st half. I will add that VT is playing out of their minds today. We see a game like this at least once a year for every top team. It happens. Everyone just needs to chill out and get a grip. The season is not over yet.
The lineup and injuries and now suspension has never let this team gel and mesh. It could take a while...

I know Duke has a bad game a year, but normally you can, sort of, see how things are going to be shaped in the end. I can't this year. How does this team have trouble scoring? The defense is just lack of heart, and effort. The offensive end is a complete head scratcher. This sucks! I hope things change, but I'm not going to expect them to reach their potential this year. They appear to hate playing together! If this was football, the whole team would sit out the bowl game.
And don't blame this on Grayson. This is a team issue. Like I said before, I'd love to know what they're doing in practice because these guys are playing like it's the first game of the season!

No, I do blame Grayson. He's a selfish brat who makes everything abliut him. This is his fault. When have you heard of K suspending any player let alone a junior CAPTAIN. Just dismiss Allen already
We've been playing piss poor basketball since unlv. If you can't see the direction this team is headed in I don't know how you're going to be feeling later on. Can this team turn it around? Sure. But there's no more easy teams to build on. Allen just recently created so much team chemistry issues with his trip and the freshman don't have time or any easy games left to figure it out. With the lack of a true pg and nobody that actually knows how to run an offense it could get really ugly.
How is this Graysons fault, they weren't playing that well with him in. This isn't the last game of the year and it's not like VT is a D3 school
Momentum can change quickly. VT has had everything go their way. If we can give 'em a punch or 2 in the mouth we might drain a little of that confidence away from them and suck it up for ourselves. Plenty of time...just need to be productive on both sides of the ball.

Why? He was a pg by position but he sure didn't play like one. He would have obviously improved but sounded like he or family were a lot ego to handle.
Exactly. This isn't Chaminade. Half of the pre-game predictions were that Duke would lose. Denial hurts but is necessary sometimes. IF, Duke loses the best case scenario is that they learn from it.
I hate this as much as anyone but some of you need to settle down, it's one bad game, it happens, get over it.
