Fans bash players and especially Grayson.
I ask you this. Where is all the star power outside of Grayson? It was Giles, Tatum and Bolden. Tatum just now showing up no Giles or Bolden.
I'll take the 14 point loss. But I ask us as fans to not be so harsh. These are kids who's expectations are set not only by the coaches but also by the fans. We let are own selfs down when they don't preform to what " We" expect.

Ehh some of it IS on him, come on now. After 4 years, he could be better than this on offense.
It was a collective failure by our team. Onto the next one, go Duke.
Matt is in a horrid shooting slump right now. the lynch mob will surely not give him a pass but he is also the only person on our team right now making plays on defense. So on one hand it is tough to support a 3 and D guy when he is as cold as Matt is but with as bad as our guys look at defense can we really afford to bench a guy who is actually creating turnovers.
This team from the coaches through the players is going to get a serious gut check these next couple weeks. They are at a fork in the road for sure. It's called adversity. They are a very talented team but right now they are not a very good team. This team can either point fingers and feel sorry for themselves or they can fight their tails off learn to play as a team and learn how to win together. I'm disappointed in today's performance as is everybody but I'm even more intrigued to see how we respond
It's over....next game! I'm as disappointed as anyone, but I refuse to bash these kids or the coaches like some posters on here.

I see what your saying, but is it to much to expect a little hustle and enthusiasm. If I thought they gave it everything they had and just got beat I would not be so disappointed. The defensive is terrible, and it is all about effort, the ball does not move on offense until whoever has it decides they are not going to get up a good shot, then we take a tough shot anyways.
I am not sure what the deal is, I know my expectations coming in where high and I am sure the teams was. They are not having fun and it is a dysfunctional atmosphere from outside looking in, something has to change or the same results are going to continue to happen.
I knew they were losing 10 minutes in, Tech wanted to be there and Duke did not, how can playing basketball at Duke not be fun and exciting, based on the team I witnessed today they do not seem to think it is.
There were definitely moments in the second half. By that point they were too spent to continue that comeback pace. Man I wish Ques could contribute some.
Yep. Now that it's over, as predicted, several posters have already decided our seasons over, coach is horrible and Matt Jones should be sent to a deserted island in the Pacific. This was pretty easy to see coming. First of all, it's not just about we played bad, VT played an excellent game. Shot really well. Played great defense. It's just not that hard to see we aren't ready yet and yes, it is due to injuries, it's not because K is a bad coach or Matt Jones sucks. That's silly. Grayson in this game and it's a different story, garanteed. We still have a way to go to play as a team, it's hard when half the team just got here fellas. We'll get better, but lots of work to be done yet. We definitely will be out of sorts until Grayson returns. Giles will be along after a few more games. I think Jackson rises soon as well. This ain't over by a long shot. The same people screaming doom and gloom did it during our 15 skid, wrote us off for a first round exit. We rose to the top. Hang in there and Go Duke!
Yeah Giles will get better, k clearly trying to increase his minutes for his benefit. He'll get there.

Giles will be getting plenty of minutes soon enough. Up until a couple weeks ago he hadn't played in over a year. It isn't a video game.
Not sure on bolden though. Probably having trouble with adapting to the college game. He is no longer the biggest and the best on a team. It may not be until later in the year when catches on.

The way I see it is this and this is just my opinion. We have a collection of good players, but we are not close to what I would call a good "team". Watching Villanova right now...that's a team.
Overall the dude can't score he can't drive and without last years shooting mark he's terrible at the 3 too. But it's not his fault we lost

I'm not worried yet. In a few weeks Tatums going to be our go to after he gains more confidence. He started to show a different look in the second half. K will find a defense that will fit this Team and it can't be what we're running now. Our guards couldn't stay in front of fat Albert. If we don't figure it out soon we will finish middle of the pack in the acc with Mickey Ds all over the place.

Sure that with your resume you do understand that it takes more than a week for players to learn how to play together.This team has not been together long enough to play together.So with this in mind you want the denigrate the GOAT. SMH
