Wow! Well this team certainly keeps it interesting. I'm keeping this short.

Is this officially Luke's team? When he hasn't been involved, our success has waned. When he's involved, Duke just plays better. What say you?

Will we follow this game like we did Miami? Or will there be change for better? I'm not optimistic but glad they shoved this game up the haters rear end.

This Duke team is in a tough situation. They have a lottery pick on their team but he makes the team worse. What do you do? Seriously. It is a bad situation to be in. Does the staff have the guts to significantly reduce his playing time? Who knows. But that is our only chance unfortunately.

Luke should be our 1 and 1a person on offense... let the offense go thru him and it will open up the court for everyone else. Great gutsy win! Hopefully this kicks starts something!

Hopefully we can make it back to back wins - though the concern with the effort is still there. A W papers a lot of cracks - we still struggle to defend, we still have no inside game and give up too many easy baskets....loved to see the floor slap on the last WF possession but it needs to be on every possession.

Regarding Tatum - even if he is a lottery pick you do what is best for the team - this isnt his showcase so if we are better with him off the bench then so be it. Its about putting the best team on the floor that plays with passion and cohesion at both ends - the team that gives us the best chance to win - not individual playing time.

I've always thought you roll with the players that make the team better.

I'll wait to see how Duke plays against ND before I say anything.

It's time to start Jackson though. If Big V can play like he did tonight use your fouls on defense is all I can say.

I still don't think the message from K was received except by Luke and Jackson.

Vrank outplayed Amile today. Amile can't move with that foot.

I don't feel good about this group moving forward. We're not making passes. We're not cutting without the ball. Our defense is soft.

Great win!

Winning in the ACC this year is extremely difficult. Look at UNC v MIA.

This is such a crazy league this year. NCSU beats us at home. Wake beats NCSU at NCSU!

It was a change to see something drawn up on the last play to Kennard, Kudo to Capel. Usually in the past those always seem to be 1on1 situations. Gutty win!

And Matt, but he didn't need to hear it anyway. Steady player, and always shows up to play.

Really proud of them for fighting!

Luke was amazing but you know who else was?? Vrank!! He gave us big minutes and did a lot of really good things...

Luke Carried us...everything should run through him...of that there is no question..

Good to get a win, but it doesn't change the fact that this team has issues. Particularly the offense is stagnant far too often and there is too much ISO ball. We'll find out more about this team on Monday in South Bend.

I still think we'll struggle to win games. The team just isn't that good right now. It was nice to win, don't get me wrong, but I can't foresee a scenario that has us winning Monday night in South Bend.

I agree with you. Vrank actually looked a little like Zoubek at times. He was very active and played hard.

I agree. Was happy we won but not sure much got fixed. Luke just put it in beast mode and carried this team.

I'll agree that Duke struggles defensively, but at this point in season it's a lot easier building off a win than a loss

Unfortunately I agree... Bonzie and vasturia always kill us! I would be interested (don't think it will happen) to see Javin play bonzie... to see if the length and athleticism can somehow throw off bonzie off....

I just hope that they can build off this win... stay out of foul trouble.... and play through Luke... anything can happen

Kenard was unbelievable, that's obvious but it was good to see Allen play good as well. He had to endure a lot today

The only devil's advocate argument I can make re: Tatum is that other coaches will use the hell out of that during the recruiting process if we fail to utilize someone who is that highly regarded. However I completely agree with previous posters who've been saying that we need to play the guys that make us a better TEAM...and that group simply does not include Tatum. There's huge hypocrisy in the "punishment" that K gave the team when the coaches simply refuse to do what so obviously needs to be done (reducing Tatum's minutes significantly).

First off Brando was so obviously anti-Duke I wish I'd turned off the sound. And ESPN is just loving the Grayson stuff it's getting more and more out of control, it's obnoxious for a network with two of their main guys from Duke not even watering it down... As far as the game, the refs ruined the gameplay and had the tightest whistle I've seen in a long time, which I think only built the tension. But we really played decent defense in the last 15 minutes, fought hard and pressed well. Offensively, it is obvious we need to change the game plan to get Luke and Grayson moving with off-ball screens. The last couple years the one-on-one game has been much better, but for some reason Tatum just can't get going and it really creates a stagnant offense. Hopefully, like Ingram, he can get used to ACC physicality and start to finish better and find his spots. What a game from Luke though, just deadly in the second half. If we can play even 30 minutes of solid defense we should win 9/10 games. But lately we've just had 5-10 minutes of that. Big test at ND with I'm sure another sellout crowd. I'm sure Brey will tell them to bait Grayson, hopefully he can brush it off like he did most of today.

Call me a homer, but I really feel like Duke can catch Notre Dame sleeping. We've played awful, they've been good (though their offense has been a Beachum/Vasturia show which can be shut down) and they've had success against past Duke teams. To me that's a recipe for a potential upset (said to say it like that). Luke has to be good though. If he's good, the others will feed off of it.

The studio crew defended allen which was good to hear...the game side commentators not so much

And regarding Tatum, he's going to do what's best for him (has been already). The coaches have to do what's best for their program. If that mean playing him, then you play him. If that means sitting him, then you sit him. Either way, when this team is together, they're really good.

Was that the ACC Network Gminski telecast. Because his booth partner railed on the media and other teams for singling out Grayson.

Had to work today but did see the whole tar heel game. What a beautiful thing too see and what great joy it brought me. Waited until now I did see the first half which really got me down. I'll tell you when I saw those black uni's I just felt sick. Nothing much to say about that first half other than it seemed as though it was going to be another loss. Nothing was going our way for sure. I got to see bits and pieces of the second half and got to see the end but I didn't see what caused the little skirmish near the end of the game near the Duke bench. Could someone tell me what happened. I did see Grayson's tech and was hoping he could have held it together but the Wake fans were really on his case. It's not going to get easier and he's gonna have to get over it. Luke Kennard had the greatest half of any Duke player I have ever seen. I really don't know what to say other than it was magnificent. Just think if he had hit those free throws. Anyway when you have a day when unc loses and Duke wins even when wearing those offensive black uni's it's a wonderful day. OFC

Yes - Gman and Brando were the court side knuckleheads...wasnt their dumbest comment which just shows you how bad they were

Maybe I'm numb to it at this point, but I really thought they were good today. Maybe I didn't hear everything, but it seemed better than most games we've heard. And I'll reiterate, Brando came to Grayson's defense pretty hard in that bench struggle in which Childress should have been tossed for THROWING GRAYSON TO THE BENCH! How the hell do you get away with that?!

I thought Brando was good with the Grayson situation. It was the way he called the game. Idk maybe it was just me, but he defended the refs on obvious no calls multiple times and got pumped every time WF made a decent play and was ho-hum when Duke made the same type plays. Again, maybe it was just my frustration with the game, but I thought it was obvious. My Grayson reference was from the highlight I watched on ESPN, which was 3/4 Grayson Allen drama fuel. Didn't even mention Luke's 30 pt second half...

One of the best plays of the game was when Grayson hit the 3 that was set up by good ball movement and patience. That gave Duke a chance and they capitalized. I want to see Vrank play a lot more because he brings toughness and compation to the team.
