Not saying they are not one of the best teams, or that the ACC isn't better than it was last year. However, I just looked, and guess how many road games Duke has against the 5 teams directly below them in the standings. ONE. Must be nice.

Another game where Duke makes more free throws than the other team takes and this on the road. They still haven’t had a game this year where their opponent had more free throws than them. Cal had the same amount last game but otherwise Duke has taken more in every single game and at times a lot more like today. 28-10. Just sickening the whistle they get.

The ACC doesn’t do round robin anymore. Duke played at Clemson and UVA last year so it rotates back to Durham this year. Only some teams play each other twice like Duke-Unc. ACC wants to keep the schedule to under 20 games so the schedule makers are contorting the regular season into quite a twisted pretzel. Some teams will have at least one ACC team that they won’t even play once. For the first time in ACC history Unc and NC State won’t play twice. Duke has a game with Michigan next month.

Don’t most good teams shoot more FT’s? Maybe they’re really good? They held Cal and Stanford on their courts to 56 and 50 points while Unc lost to both and gave up tons of points.

Duke has always been a protected team for some reason

I’d venture to guess Duke is the only team in the country this far into the season to not have a single game where they shot less free throws than their opponent. Not a single game. Today’s game wasn’t the case but there have been many where Duke took more Threes and still had more free throws.

Duke spranked a very good Stanford team today by 30 in front of the first soldout crowd in many years at Maples Pavilion at Stanford.
Duke is for real.
Stanford & Cal both beat NC TarHeels.

Duke is really good. Unfortunately, Shyer has kept it rolling since K stepped down. I hate them as much as anyone, but he’s going to keep them good for a long time.

I’m starting to think it really doesn’t matter how tough a schedule you have in college. UCONN plays a terrible schedule, and the best UK teams of the last 25 years played a terrible schedule (the SEC was hot garbage in 12 and 15) and it didn’t really matter.
