If a shooter is fouled in the act of shooting (and misses), does that show up in the stats as a missed shot?

Nope. It's only a FGA if he makes it.

Here's one I honestly don't know:

If a player throws up a full court shot that falls short but bounces into the hoop, does he get credit for the basket, or does some other player that was closer when the ball bounced get the credit?

Yeah. Does the shooter get the points for a bounced shot if someone else on the team was closer during the actual bounce.

It does not show up as a missed shot in the stats. Play-by-play logs only show the foul and subsequent free throws. Obviously a made shot on a foul is counted.

What about ill-advised shots taken early in the shot clock? Those don't count as misses, do they?

I certainly don’t know the rules, but my wag is that if no one else contacts the ball, the bouncer would get the credit. It would be hilarious to watch someone do that in a game, but they might quickly be riding the pine thereafter.

When I was a kid, I remember watching their TV specials (80s) and LITERALLY believing they were the greatest players on Earth!

My guess is if an offensive player is last to touch the ball before it goes into the basket they will always get credit. If a defensive player is last to touch (I.e., accidently tips in) then the closest offensive player will get credit for the basket.

No. It does count as a FGA if he makes it but not if he misses. Like a tipped ball. If it goes in, it counts as a rebound but it does not it the tip does not go in.

I think it would have to hit the floor before time expired in order to count rather than just leave his hand. I would think the "shooter" would get credit

I know right! They actually did some amazing things. I wonder if the hoop was larger or if that is just how good a good BB player is when he knows the defense is not sincere.

Pretty sure that even a missed tip-in is a FGA and the subsequent rebound counts as well.
