I am stealing this format from kitty_bintingot. He has run the WSS (West Suburban Silver) weekly Board for years. I really enjoy what he's done and I really appreciate the respect for each other that everyone has on that board. With that, let's give the format a try with the DVC. I have a son in the DVC fyi:
I will calculate each weeks picks for W's/L's. Make it fun and don't be too much of an idiot!
Week 6 - DVC - You see, in the DVC, you have no idea what you get from each team, week to week. Not any one team in this conference is unbeatable. Look at the 1st two weeks....anything can happen.
Matea Valley at Naperville North
Matea, coming off a great game vs. Dekalb will give the recently energized Huskies of Naperville North a run for their Money. With that, the Huskies are also coming off a horribly officiated game (for both teams) in which they more than belonged against Naperville Central. Everyone expected DeKalb and Naperville Central to blow-out Matea and Naperville North, respectively. Well, both upsets could have happened.
Naperville North 28 - Matea 21
Waubansie Valley @ DeKalb
Waubansie Valley, coming off a pretty bad loss to Nequa Valley, and a horrible loss to Naperville North, is poised to bounce back. Teams have let downs after big games. DeKalb did after the Nequa Loss when they played Matea. It's Waubansie's Turn playing at DeKalb:
DeKalb 35 - Waubansie 21
DVC GOW: Naperville Central @ Nequa Valley:
Nequa has played at a high level all year including the understandable let down vs. DeKalb after the Incredible East St. Louis Game. Nequa has a total performer at QB in Granowski. All they do is score, score, and score. Pretty awesome offense and very well coached team. Naperville Central is in desperate need of a win, playing away from home, on a sloppy grass field against a team that seeks revenge for last years horrible and stupid loss at NC. A loss at Nequa pretty much means no playoffs for Naperville Central. This is an easy pick on paper. BUT......NC has a weird component to them. The "transfers" need time to gel and figure things out. NC beat a Naperville North Team last week thats a lot better than people think. There is no way NC should win this game. With that, the DVC GOW goes as follows:
Naperville Central 35 - Nequa Valley 28
Add-In Game (former DVC members only): Lake Park @ Glenbard North:
Weber field will host two teams fighting for a playoff birth after HORRIBLE 2018 campaigns.
GBN 21 - Lake Park 20
Any comments/criticism/compliments are welcome. Keep this thread respectful....read the WSS Week 6 thread if you want to know how to be respectful. Nobody here has a crystal ball...it's just a point of view and wisdom...right or wrong.
