Sunday against the Vikings came down to the wire, because of course it did, but the Eagles found their way back into the win column, 28-22.

The Eagles didn't run the ball well, again, as Saquon Barkley continued to get stuffed against the Vikings. They're back to making swing plays on defense, though.

Except they had a better defense and a much better OLine last year. They aren’t repeating.
The run D was a bright spot. Now to get more from the pass rush. Getting Smith back should help, but I think Howie needs to make a significant move there. BG isn’t the answer.
Let’s hope the passing game eases pressure on Barkley and the run game.
What’s interesting is the relationship between running the football successfully and playing better defense.
Last year, the Barkley-led running game was a perfect complement to the defense. This year, the running game hasn’t worked yet and the defense has dropped off.
I agree that based on how they’ve played so far, this isn’t a championship team. They need to get better on both sides and Howie needs to add an edge or two on defense. That feels like the root of many issues.
Edit: to put this in perspective, Hurts had a passer rating of 158.3 and a QBR of about 96 (out of 100). He played the game of his life and the Eagles still could have lost that game because the Vikes had so many chances on offense.
The vertical passing game was awesome, but they need to control the ball and clock more to beat the best teams.

It was great seeing 17 back out there. I hope him being back adds flexibility for Fangio.
Lots of people said they were done at 2-2 last year. Rumblings about getting rid of Sirianni. Get to their bye week. Suddenly they run off win after win. Long way to go this season. They have their bye week coming up which they used for the spring board last year. Passing game has woken up. Running game has shown glimpses. They get the running game going again and IMHO they easily make another run for the title. This is the youngest defense in the league Fangio is going to work them and they will continue to get better as the season wears on. I agree Howie needs to make a move for dline, be interesting to see if they get Hendrixson. They have plenty of picks. Still possibly need a corner as well. Everyone wanted Rodgers to stay but Devontae and AJ torched him pretty good yesterday.
Yeah. I’m not writing them off…just agreeing they don’t look like a champion today.
Cincy is hanging around so I don’t expect Hendrickson to be dealt. But the Dolphins edge defenders likely will be.
I think CB2 gets better with more pass rush. Yes, there are tackling issues…but a guy like Ringo may also get better with experience.
Interesting take on the Eagles run game play calling. This kid does a pretty good job analyzing game film. He’s fair in saying it’s not clear what’s Hurts vs Patullo.
Going under center was a new wrinkle for the Eagles' offense, but was it effective?
The Eagles went under center more than usual against the Vikings as a changeup to fix their run game issues. They ended up hitting on some big passes instead.
