Cox forces a fumble. Vikes recover, but it was on 3rd down, so that ends the Vikings drive.

ugh, a screen to Gainwell goes off his hands and the Vikes with an INT, which they return into the red zone (the Birds's 9)

While Joe was not wrong in saying that the first quarter was dominated by the Eagles, I think it might be just as appropriate to say that the first quarter was dominated by the refs.
Was that O’Neills crew out there?? It sure felt like it!

That was a fun game to watch and the TD before the half! Damn nice way to end the half!!
And a typical Kirk Cousins performance to start the second half. Gets a nice drive going, doesn’t see someone open over the middle for what the announcers say could have been a touchdown, and throws an interception on the next play. I had to laugh.

The Eagles look tough, clearly the class of the NFC East. The Detroit win looks a lot better after the Lions beat Washington. Enjoy the ride.

I am far from an Eagles fan, but this is the best they have looked in a lonnnnng time
I keep hearing that "the best they looked in a long time" What is a looong time? Didn't they look this good in the superbowl run? 2017 wasn't that long ago? Or to some 5 years is a loooong time? Or is that I am old and don't consider 5 years a long time? 🤷‍♂️

My own take. One of the things I like about this board is that usually someone eventually takes the trouble to respond for you.

I'm not going too crazy after two games, but Hurts looks really good. Not going to say he is definitely the future, but it certainly looks like the potential is there. Great play calling too.

yeah, still a tad too early to draw sweeping conclusions. Many of the concerns Eagles' fans had after the Lions game were not an issue in the Vikings game. If you looked at the matchups, it seemed that the Vikings' O was going to be a problem against the Birds' D -- at least the one we saw in Detroit.

On a larger scale, lots of things in Week 2 of the NFL didn't follow from what took place in Week 1. So it's not a mistake to go slow on elevating the Birds or Hurts into the top echelon of the NFL.

But, they sure did look good last night (especially if you disregard the FG unit and the KO return unit).

Can we tap the brakes a couple of times? It wasn't long ago that Carson Wentz took the league by storm and then completely fell off a cliff. Two games have been highly encouraging, but it doesn't constitute a career.

The Eagles have the look of a potential contender this year. Let's see if they can sustain the momentum and whether Hurts can continue to mesh with his highly talented surrounding cast. The next few games are very winnable. How great would it be to start 5-0 and snowball momentum into the season?

One of the bigger positives I saw last night is that the Eagles got a convincing win, but still left lots of things to clean up and work on. This team still hasn't peaked and that's encouraging. They can get even better.

I would feel much better if they were able to score some in the 2nd half. Maybe like 2 more TDs(even though they didn't need to the way the defense was playing)
