Anyone ever heard of this? ER doc told me that I might have it. Besides being the most patriotic-sounding malady in history, apparently it's some kind of calicification of a ligament that goes down near the throat. Not really a big deal but it can cause SUDDEN DEATH if it gets pushed up against the carotid artery. Not a fan of dying, but I don't really want to have surgery if it's just something stupid.

Mockery and advice appreciated, Wildcat friends.

I suggest a partial styloidectomy. Repair of a damaged carotid artery is essential in order to prevent further neurological complications and ****.

Never heard of it. But I wish you well. And I concur with kooky. Go ahead and have the procedure done next summer. It will give you a chance to do something productive during the summer months for a change.

Hang in there, brother.

I'd get a second opinion, funkman. Eagle syndrome is very rare, especially in men. However, if it is confirmed, I would look at surgery to fix it. It can lead to a stroke or worse if untreated.

I've been waiting for that gif, Mav. One of the symptoms is a feeling of something stuck in your throat (the reason I was in the ER in the first place). Guess I would take one for this great nation.

Some people get light bulbs stuck in their butt and have to visit the ER. Could be related. Good luck.

I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night. You'll be fine, take 2 aspirin and post back in the morning.
