I recalled Herring losing to Cortez (Spartan Combat) at Clarion Open. I checked the brackets and he did lose by md 10-1 to Cortez in the first round. Checking Bloomsburg, Herring also lost to Roman Lermer (NYC RTC) 4-3. I guess WrestleStats does not list results of matches with two unrostered wrestlers. Guess that makes sense, but news to me.[/url]
Pyles says no Ono and MM up to 174 today. Of course Pyles is clueless
He didn't say that that's happening. But that's the best lineup decision. Keeps PJ in and MM is winning 174.

With how young he is, I’m hoping James redshirts.
Long term Henckel will probably have to beat out Duke or James to crack the lineup. It’s possible he can end up in same situation as guts such as Sealy and Connor Mirasola
so wouldn’t make decisions on whether to RS Duke based on his eligibility situation
I’m no insider but I don’t see MM moving up up and away from a weight he can wrestle in Olympic years. He’s never going to be an 86 kilo guy and has anyone ever heard that he struggles to make 165? It’s not like we don’t have options at 174.
Everyone has Desmond penciled in at 141. We’ll see. Scooter, with another year growing into the weight, might have something to say about that. I don’t see an automatic redshirt for Davis, as making the postseason roster won’t become easier it.

MM “moving up” is based upon maximizing our expectation of NCAA points. Duke goes in at 165. Olympic weight not a factor, Mitch can probably bonus the field undersized 174 plus it’s a year before trials
In my view, you shirt Duke, wrestle Kasak, Duke goes on a Zain tear at 165 for the three years after. We’ve got options for 174, including potentially Rocco, who, from what I had read, didn’t want to move up to 184 when he did.
Minto would give him a tougher match than anyone he wrestled this year.

This is a presentation of the the highest expectation lineup for next year. Duke and MM is almost a guaranteed 50 points

I believe he did gain weight from Y1 to Y2, maybe around 5-7 pounds? He certainly level jumped.

If Duke wants to wrestle, but can’t make 157 again, and can’t beat MM at 165, I don’t think you just move MM from his ideal weight.
I don’t know this, but I’m guessing Levi would have rather moved up from 157 to 165 instead of all the way to 174. 165 / 74 kilos is MM’s.

If Duke wants to wrestle, he has to compete for a spot. Good luck beating out Mitch. LOL. If 157 isn’t an option, Duke’s choices are either 174 or RS.
The premise we are working under is that MM will be where we wants to be. Another one is that ideal weight doesn’t have a ton of meaning for MM as he would be expected to win and perhaps have another +90% bonus rate
