New season is upon us already within 3 weeks or so. I've been out of the loop for a while and have no idea what the legendary coach Brown has cooking this year in Icard.

This team suprised a lot of people last year after starting alittle slow out the gate. Losing RB Clark and a good WR is a major blow however I noticed a lot of good size on the team last year was Jrs and some beefy fellas on a not so good JV team. I may have posted and asked this same question months before, but wouldn't hurt to start again. What is expected this year? All input welcome

Glad to see you back, can tell it's getting close to football season as folks that has not posted in several months are coming back.

Let us know what the conference looks like this year.

I wish EB would get out of this conf soon. Sure playing good teams can make you better depending on the moral and attitude of the boys playing but it can also be disheartening going into a Crest/Shelby/KM game knowing the outcome and the gate sales being low due to people already knowing the outcome. It's like why bother watching Lenior Rhynn play Alabama. Same concept. EB boys are good at times but just can't match up with the speed and athleticism that Clevand/and or half of Mecklenburg schools show.

Just for a change I wish EB in the next conf realignment will link up with the Lincoln co schools and some of Catawba. It's different/close and exciting.

Good to see you back on too. Can't wait to rant and rave bout the upcoming games.

The top teams in the area last year, some will return not skipping a beat(East Lincoln) and some may suffer growing pains(Freedom) and then some may be just be on a roll of a long term dynasty(Monroe) be sorta like Indy/Mallard Crk in the 2a realm.

I like to comment on South Caldwell a lot and will this year considering they got a well known coach from up North. That and seeing how Alexander Central responds to Carters coaching ways. Also will Hickory ever rise up from the dead? Will Saint Stephens get on a roll again?

Can't wait for 3rd week in Aug when the Catawba unifor area teams come together to showcase either inprovements or growing pains

I hear East Burke has some size this year. QB Duckworth is back and
has a couple of guys to throw to. I think a big question is at running back
position. The new coach from South Pointe (SC) should be a big help...
wish we had him! Considering the conference East Burke wins 5 to 6
games.

I'd hope more wins with only losses being Crest/Shelby and maybe Freedom if they hadn't lost too much to graduation

Shelby has great tradition. I'm from east but Shelby program the best. We played them in playoffs back in 2000 I believe close game,great stadium.

Hibriten vs East Burke week 1. Hibriten went 3 rounds last year in 3A. Lost a close game to Kings Mountain. Return almost the whole team. I don't see EB keeping up with them.

Your absolutely right. I did forget all about Hibriten. I don't see them being the same team that nearly beat Butler/lost of West Rowan in a thriller(2010) but a team that brings all back like that, no telling what's in store.

Did coach Brown retire? It'd prob be talked about a lot more if he did.

In 2017 East Burke will be in an all 2A with Patton, Draughn, Fred T. Foard, Hibriten, Bunker Hill and West Iredell. I'm sure fans are counting down the days. Will be a much more manageable conference for y'all in football.

This conference doesn't give wins away.... it is very tough. Not to mention the
non conference schedule of East Burke.... Hibriten and Freedom. If E Burke
can win 5 to 6 games I would consider it a decent year.

Still working on things. Our offense is missing a spark. My honest feeling
is that we are a 7 win team this season.

BJ is doing well... was just home for a few days.
It looks like he is #3 on the depth chart at RB and should
get some carries this season!

I wasn't there man ha ha. That's why I asked. This Friday if my crew come with me, I'll be at HiB/EB. Be my first game pretty much. What is eakin?
