Here is the new Top 25 (per D1Baseball.com):
  1. Texas - handled their business and on Sunday Ivan was must see tv hammering two home runs, one of which was to dead straight and over the batter's eye which Pierce jokingly said after the game, we just raised it another 8 feet from last year. Note: Ivan is only player to have hit a HR over the monster 3 times. Up Next: Tue/Wed at Whataburger Field against Texas A&M Corpus and then a weekend series against Alabama.
  2. Arkansas - did not have the most impressive weekend against Illinois State, losing their first home opener since 1981, but they came back and won the series. Up Next: The Hogs travel to Round Rock for the Karbach Classic this weekend and will face off against Indiana, #6 Stanford and Louisiana
  3. Ole Miss - The Rebels demolished an overmatched Charleston Southern team to open the season. Up Next: they have Arkansas State (Tues) and VCU over the weekend.
  4. Oklahoma State - After getting shut out by Vandy on Friday night, the Pokes capitalized on an early Vandy error Saturday to even the series and then was able to push 2 runs in the 9th on Sunday to win the series. The Pokes look to be an Omaha contender. Up Next: Tues night v. Sam Houston at Globe Life Field and then a weekend series against Wright State at home
  5. Vanderbilt - Vandy pitching outdueled Ok State ace Justin Campbell on Friday and shut them out, but a early costly error and in ability to get runners home cost them on Saturday and the bullpen gave up 2 runs in the 9th on Sunday which cost them the series. Up Next: North Alabama (Tue), Evansville (Wed) and a weekend series against Army
  6. Stanford - After scoring in the 1st inning, Stanford used 5 pitchers to record an opening day shutout of Cal State Fullerton, winning 1-0. On Saturday, Cal State got their revenge and blanked Stanford 11-0 to even the series. In the Sunday rubber match, Stanford proceeded to dominate Cal State 11-1. What a wild weekend out west! Up Next:
  7. Mississippi State - Landon Sims lived up to the hype, but the MS St bullpen misses Sims as they gave up 3 runs late, while Long Beach State held MS St to 1 hit on opening night in the 3-0 shutout. On Saturday, both teams traded early runs in the 1st, but then Long Beach went on a tear and ended up winning 13-3 to win the series. In the series finale, MS St avoided being swept at home by pounding Long Beach 12-4. Up Next: UAPB (Tues) and a weekend series against Northern Kentucky
  8. LSU - The best offense in the nation does what it is supposed to against an inferior opponent, run up the score. Tigers outscored Maine 51-15 on the weekend. LSU's season is going to hinge on its pitching staff. If they are decent, this team will hit its way to Omaha. Up Next: at Louisiana Tech (Wed) and then host Towson (Fri/Sun) and Southern (Sat/Sun) this weekend.
  9. NC State - Learn the name Tommy White. True Freshman who went off this weekend with 5 HRs and 12 RBIs. The Wolfpack started strong in demolishing Evansville for the week. Up Next: High Point (Tues), Longwood (Wed) and a weekend series against Quinnipiac
  10. Florida State - The Seminoles pitching staff was as advertised this weekend in a sweep of James Madison. Up Next: Jacksonville (Tue) and a weekend series against Samford
  11. Arizona - Wildcats bested part of the Big12 this weekend. They beat K-State despite a shaky bullpen on Friday and then they hammered OU (14-4) and Texas Tech (13-2) on Saturday and Sunday to complete their weekend. The Wildcats have solid pitching and an excellent offensive team, despite losing star (Berry) and head coach (Johnson) to LSU in the off-season. Up Next: Grand Canyon (Tues) and a four game series (Thur-Sund) against Milwaukee
  12. Long Beach State - Long Beach was able to win Fri night by shutting out MS State and getting to the Dawg bullpen. On Saturday the bats came alive and they torched MS State before getting hammered in the series finale by MS State. Overall, an excellent weekend and they will be a dangerous team come the post season. Up Next: weekend series against Sacramento State
  13. Notre Dame - The Golden Domers hammered Manhattan on Friday then had to hold off a late surge by Stetson on Saturday before dropping the weekend finale to Delaware via a walk-off homerun. Up Next: Marist (Fri), Monmouth (Sat DH) and Marist (Sun).
  14. Oregon State - If opening weekend is any indication, the Pac12 is going going be a dog fight. The Beavers blasted New Mexico on Friday (21-1) then hammered Gonzaga on Saturday before hammering both Gonzaga and New Mexico in a Sunday double header. The Beavers look to have strong pitching staff and guys who can hit. Up Next: three game series against Xavier (Thurs - Saturday)
  15. Florida - The Gators had an opening weekend to forget. Florida started off strong on Friday but then dropped back to back close games on Saturday and Sunday against Liberty. Up Next: at Stetson (Tues), v. North Florida (Wed) and a weekend series against Georgia State
  16. Georgia - The Dawgs won a close one on Friday night and then needed a walk-off RBI double to beat Albany on Saturday. On Sunday, the Dawgs out matched Albany for the series sweep. Up Next: Wofford (Tues) and then a weekend series against Akron
  17. TCU - The Frogs opened the season in dramatic fashion against San Diego State by scoring 3 runs in the 9th inning to earn an opening night victory. On Saturday against Cal Bears, TCU was down 6-4 going into the 9th they again got some late inning magic to tie the game up, but Cal got a 1 out triple in the bottom of the 9th and then walked it off on a wild pitch to steal one against the Horn Frogs. On Sunday, TCU didn't mess around and 10 run ruled Houston in 8 innings. Up Next: Stephen F Austin (Tues), UTSA (Wed) and a weekend series against Nebraska at Globe Life Field
  18. Tennessee - The Vols did what good teams do against inferior competition in dominating Georgia Southern for a series sweep. Up Next: Tenn Tech (Tues), UNC Asheville (Wed) and a weekend series against Iona - Side Note - Vols might have the worst looking baseball website ever #garbage #yourUIsucks
  19. Georgia Tech - The Yellow Jackets needed a walk-off HR on Friday to beat Wright State, but then proceeded to beat Wright State handily on Sat and Sunday for the series sweep. Up Next: Georgia Southern (Tues), Presbyterian (Wed) and a weekend series against Gardner-Webb.
  20. Texas Tech - Underwhelming opening weekend for the Raiders. Friday night, Tech Freshman Owen Washburn hit a two out walk-off single to complete beat Michigan. On Saturday, in a pitchers duel, Auburn was able to best Tech by a score of 2-1. On Sunday, Tech ran into the Arizona buzz saw and got hammered 13-2, managing only 5 hits on the day. Tech Freshman Molina was good through 4 innings and then surrendered a 5 spot. Up Next: Dallas Baptist (Tues) and then a weekend series against Kent State
  21. Liberty - The Flames were handily beaten by the Gators on Friday, but then won close back to back games on Saturday and Sunday to steal a series win. Up Next: North Carolina A&T (Wed) and then a weekend series against Winthrop
  22. Maryland - Welcome to the Top 25 Terrapins. After easily sweeping Baylor in Waco this past weekend, Maryland looks like it could be a contender in the Big10 conference. On Friday, Maryland held Baylor to just 5 hits in the shutout, then scored 4 in the first on Saturday to guide them on their way and finally on Sunday took advantage of 4 Baylor errors to complete the sweep. Up Next: UMBC (Tues) and a weekend series at a very talented Campbell squad.
  23. Duke - The Blue Devils dropped an opening day game against VMI, but bounced back on Saturday to hammer them 9-1. On Sunday, Duke held on to win a close one to win the series. Up Next: App State (Tues) and then a weekend series at Baylor
  24. Miami - The Hurricanes won a close game on Friday against Towson then hammered them in a double header on Saturday and again on Sunday for a 4 game sweep. Up Next: FAU (Wed) and then a weekend series against Harvard.
  25. East Carolina - The Pirates got dumped on in the first game against Bryant (10-2) and things only got worse from there. On Saturday, in the bottom of the 9th, ECU hit a HR for the walk-off win...but NO. The First Base Ump had been granted time, so the pitch and subsequent HR did not count. ECU went on to lose 4-5 in 10 innings (YIKES). Sunday added to the misery as Bryant was able to push across a 9th inning run to get the win and series sweep. Needless to say, ECU missed their Friday night ace and top draft prospect, Carson Whisenhunt badly (suspended for team rules). Up Next: Campbell (Tues) and then a weekend series against North Carolina.
Dropped Out: UC Irvine (lost series to Louisiana) and Dallas Baptist (lost series to Southeast Missouri State)

With a good Campbell team as a midweek game and UNC as a weekend series, ECU's troubles could deepen.

Just looked at ECUs schedule. Looks like they do their series with UNC similar to our rivalry with clemson but no neutral site. Fri Sat are at UNC, Sun game at ECU. I have no idea if they play that series annually.

After our performance over the weekend, I think you may be sadly right about Carolina. But we do look good in the new uniforms.

I just can’t stand to see my yard cocks down like this anymore. Something has to change with our mens BB and baseball squads
