The game Saturday at Clyde C Jordan Stadium was an instant classic. Two teams battling down to literally the final seconds. After Glenbard scored on the quick pass to the wide-open receiver. It seemed all the air was taken out of the stadium. With 2:32 left, & no timeouts. The odds was against East Side. Especially on the 4th & 19yd play. Not too many people are talking about that play. For the fb #34 (Robinson) to catch the pass and keep moving to get the ball across the marker. Then after the pass interference call, it just gave you that sense that something spectacular was going to happen. 9.3 seconds remaining, no timeouts on the 23yd line. If Estes is sacked, game is over. With his elusiveness, he got away from the defender and threw the ball of of his back leg to the end-zone. Then you see a leaping Jeff Thomas grabbing the ball out of the air and falling to the ground. Straight pandemonium. I'm glad I recorded it. I knew something was going to happen. Reminds me of the intensity of the Quarterfinal game against St. Rita in '08. We all know what happened that year.
