Diamont would most likely have been the Shrine Bowl HC in 2019 or 20 if he had remained as East Surry HC. He may pop back into the mix for the same position. He needs nine wins to hit the 300 milestone. He showed some class on his exit. Wish him the best.
Diamont would have gone well over his 300 wins last year.

Mr Ex official(tarheel) and Photographer(FNL)

I feel so sorry for you both. You both choose to continue living in the past. Last year you both wished failure over and over towards kids who had nothing to do with what you both want to continue to reference. It’s just a truly sad state of affairs when grown men attack kids and wish failure upon them. We are all grown men including the man you both keep referencing but we’re all big boys. But attacking success of kids and coaches who worked their tail off all year. I guess it’s just the society we live in where grown men, one who was a official and another a photographer for the paper, just can’t let stuff go and keep drama stirred up like two spoiled kids.

Find out their occupation. Show up and ridicule them. They’ll shut up eventually.

East Surry has never had the talent that they currently have now. They have 7 or 8 D1 athletes that are looking to go somewhere. I think the baseball team had 3 or 4 players offered by D1 programs and they have been eliminated from the playoffs. The gene pool is kind to schools at different times.

I agree wholeheartedly. East has always been good, but nowhere close to the talent that they have now. And besides the one RB that went to ECU who has Mt. Airy had that went big? Most of their guys have been D3 or D2. You don't have to do a lot of publicizing to get those offers. The new ES coach has done a good job on social media, but those big time coaches would be there in the building without him with the talent. NC State knew about Gosnell before Lowman even coached a single game because he went to a camp at State.

I'm not being sarcastic. If East has that kind of talented players with offers from Auburn, VTech, UVA,Carolina, Wake and many other schools why wouldn't they be favorites.
Order dem RINGS!!! My future(SN I can comment about the future can't I?? Just want to make sure) prediction is East by 3-4 td's over anyone else!!
East should be favored over ever team they face in the regular season except Reidsville. You’re also talking about 2 kids at that D1 level, not 6-7. East does have some talented other kids that will probably have opportunities to play D2 or D3. As many noted last fall, Tarboro had numerous players with that type of speed/talent. Until they are knocked off, Tarboro is the clear cut favorite to repeat in 1AA.

NC State knew of him, but were not that interested until Lowman came along and showcases him in the correct position. Those big schools would not be here without what Lowman has done, that’s a fact. East Surry has had some very good players over the past 5-10 years, some who are on the same level as the kids now, and they ended up just as d3 players because of the lack of help from the previous coach.

I 100% disagree. East has had some talented players over the years but not on the same level as some of this group. Last player they had with this level of talent was a kid named Griggs. And I have watched a lot of local football over the years.

You need to stop lol. East Surry has never had a 6'8 kid who could play multiple positions. A QB who could run and throw just as good as anyone at his level. An OL/DL who is an SEC recruit. And a lot of roll players who are weapons and can definitely play at the college level!

Lol you must hate what Coach Diamont did to you Lol

OK . Here it is again. If you have a true SEC recruit on a NC 1A high school team than that recruit should be unstoppable. If you have 2-3 true major D1 recruits (ACC< SEC) and a couple D2's and 3's on a NC1A school they should ROLL, I mean CRUISE to the to the CHAMPIONSHIP game and destroy who ever is in front of them!!!!! When I coached the NC Tractor Pull team at Waller Holler NC I had that same kind of talent and we won dem Rings by 4 feet. Way to many D1's on that team to.
Sorry Gdawg…….East by 4+ Td's. Anything else is unacceptable with that much talent.

FoothillThrill please do not try to give Coach Diamont any credit on here. Coach Lowman is a coaching genius. All credit for East Surry success down through the years goes to him. No one on here wants to give credit where credit is due and we know who built the East Surry program into what it is today...Coach David Diamont but powers that be on here will not agree and give a coach that has been there one year all the credit.

Being serious.. I truly hope these fine young men find the success that their new head coach has created for them. I'm a believer that if you can play the colleges will find you at any level regardless of the coach and I do agree with turdhill1970 that Mr. Diamont should get some credit for their successes. I also believe that promoting players to the highest potential that fits the athlete. In Surry Co. their has been only small hand full of D1 type male athletes that where ACC-SEC caliber players. I've seen several games with these young men and yes they are good high school players but I think it is a uphill climb for these young men to reach that level. I feel that Coach Lowman needs to be truth full and EXTEMELY cautious when promoting a athlete. Like I said before, they keep them knives really sharp in Pilot. Hurt a parents feelings and ……………….you might be at South helping Coach D.

Coach Lowman came to East Surry with not a very impressive record after his 5 years at 2-A Bandy's, his losing record, TOTALS conference 14-21 overall 23-35.
https://hobbsdailyreport.com/high-s...lowman-new-head-football-coach-at-east-surry/
Any idea what Coach Holder’s record was at Surry Central before he left for MA? He was 24-24. Records don’t always tell the full story.
MA was willing to bet that Holder was more than a .500 coach. East must have felt the same way about Lowman. MA was definitely right about Holder. You can’t pass judgement after just 1 season on the ES decision to hire Lowman but thus far it looks like a really good hire for them.

With their new coach 2018, Bandys went 12-02 beating Franklin 28-14, West Stokes 51-14 before losing to Hibriten 34-15 in the playoffs, so Surry Central did not have the talent that Bandys had and Mount Airy was having some down years when he came. He did not step into a program already full of talent built by another coach. Also 24-24 is better than 23-35..;)

One thing that most on here agree on is that Coach Lowman has done a great job of promoting his kids through social media. What type of football coach he is...the jury is still out. Not many people take over a program at the 1A level with the talent on that team. He came into a great situation. The talent pool will take a big hit after this coming season senior class leaves. They will still be good but nowhere close to what they will be next year.

He has to be a good coach to take them as far as he did last year without missing a step !

Too bad he couldn’t have went to N Stokes and taught them some lessons in etiquette and class. The absolute worst show of character at a HS sporting event I’ve ever seen! From high school kids to grown ups to the little sheriffs deputy, the harassment that was shown to us was unjust and won’t be forgotten! And when you condone such garbage as a superintendent....you need help!

Care to elaborate? Was this in football?

I was at the game and from what I saw it was both ways and Robbinsville was guilty too. Don't take away from the game. One of the greatest high school games I have seen in any sport. But both sides probably said things that should not have been said. There were no losers they both played there hearts out.

No this was at the softball game yesterday. They allowed some of the kids to set up a speaker in left field with a microphone. The harassment started well before the game and continued throughout. Highly illegal yet nothing was said! After the game something was said to one of our players and almost started a major incident!

That’s garbage! There was nothing said by anyone from Robbinsville until the guy started cracking on US about what we were wearing, where we were from(as if he had any room to talk), and how they were gonna hit bombs all day!

No surprise here. North Stokes is traditionally one of the more classless fan bases around, and their coaching staffs are usually right there with them. They are like this in every sport, except for maybe football (how could they ever say anything? They barely have a team).

Can’t say I’m not surprised! They hit us 12 times in 3 games as well, with 2 pitchers who’s ERA both around or under 1. Coincidence? No doubt they have a very good softball team, just hate that the fans gave their school and community a big black eye! As for football, I damn sure wish they were on our schedule this year!

Just remember always two sides to every story. Robbinsville played a great game. North down to final strike when the home run was hit. What has been failed to mention on here was the Robbinsville students with trash cans, trash can lids and weedeaters to be used to make noise.

North Stokes on a 3-run walk off home run final score 3-2 North Stokes on to state championship. North had two runners on two outs and two strikes on the hitter when she drilled one over straight away center field fence.

Making noise and insulting the other teams fans and players is a totally different thing! Our kids made a tunnel for our girls and some kid with a microphone starts throwing insults about what they were wearing, our left fielder takes her place in the bottom of the first and you hear “gonna be a long day #4”, not sure what was said after the game to our shortstop but it was enough to get her attention as well as her dads that could have had a major impact for all involved. Not to mention a few dads wearing green that made their way across the field with some of Danbury’s finest comments! You can say what you want but I was right in the middle of it all and these are the facts. No class!

Early prediction—— Bears aren’t as down as Cards would hope, Mt Airy beats the Cards in Pilot by 3.
This is absurd. East by at least 3 TDs the stud QB ain’t gonna be worth a whole lot without his freak twins out there catching his ducks.

Why does there even have to be a comparison? Coach Diamont spent the majority of his life to East Surry and the football program- and built it into the program it is now. Coach Lowman has been there a year and given everything he has to the program to keep it going and progress it as much as possible. Both men have given 100% to the program to the best of their abilities, so why compare them and put one or the other down? You’re talking about poor sportsmanship on here and yet you post reply after reply criticizing other human beings. Why isn’t ok to agree that both Coach Diamont and Coach Lowman have done a good job, not to mention the many many assistants that have been major contributors?
