LSU more than got their money's worth and would gladly make that deal again with their next coach. Firing Ed is the definition of a mercy killing though. Both parties win.

Talks funny, too.

"Blith alk amedke amsldk hallusspuh ;alskdjf a;lskjf; a;l afkdsjj jhfflas;. Go Tigerth!"
There’s a video of him doing a pregame speech in the locker room and somebody transcribed it as him screaming a gumbo recipe. I still laugh over that damn video.

I have no inside info, but I do know a few LSU people and I don't think they would be happy with a guy that has never coached in the deep south, doesn't have recruiting connections in the deep south and has lived his whole life in Ohio.

IF they go Fickell, he needs to be more Saban and less DiNardo/Miles.

This guy fell out of the butt ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. Deserving of his own Halloween mask.

Yeah, he should have taken an ESL class or ten when he was supposedly in college. It's just embarrassing to listen to that guy.

I credit Swamp People, ( in particular Troy Landry and all the regulars) for understanding the Cajun & Creole lingo.

I'd change dc's or oc's before I'd get rid of him as hc...
he just fits there too much

Ed O. is probably in over his head and won't be at LSU much longer. But I still enjoyed the season in which he kicked the crap out of a bunch of Johnny Highcrotch smile-and-say-all-the-right-things coaches who would only let him in their house if Ed agreed to clean their pool.

I listen to Dan Patrick just about every morning. Dan's undisclosed source tells him that many at LSU think they need to get in the Arch Manning sweepstakes and they don't think Orgeron is the coach to get this done. My question is what coach can LSU hire to accomplish this. Is Joe Brady enough to get Arch to Baton Rouge?

Auburn's Boise St. Idaho, Bryan Boy Harsin?

If LSU hire a new coaoch, i'd suspect they will hire Bill O'Brien, unless Joe Brady wants the job.

You realize that O'Brien is running Lane Kiffin's offense at Bama, don't you?

When he landed at Bama, Saban told him the offense we are running is Kiffin's, so just learn the playbook.

When Saban says O'Brien has "adapted" that's what I mean. Every coach is gonna tweak some things.

I know you're in love with O'Brien as a head coach SOMEWHERE. He is a good coach, and a lot of teams would do well to hire him. Just not Nebraska.
Yep, good enough for LSU and Penn State but not for Nebraska. He's way more qualified now than when he was at Penn State.

The question was not how qualified he is. The question is "this is the Alabama offense, and that's what we're running."

That's what O'Brien said, and I can give you a half dozen articles which state that including from O'Brien himself.
He sets the gameplan, but they run the Alabama offense. Not a big deal.

I think he can be a really good hire for the right situation. Maybe if he took a job with a team that has far underachieved, then he could come in, improve them, and not catch so much crap with the personality he has.

I don't think he fits in at USC, but I do think Fla St or Miami might be just fine, cause their fans want to win, and win big. LSU had no issue with Saban cause he got them a national title.

Orgeron hasn't won enough and folks figured out it was the Assistants that got it done. Even Michigan if Harbaugh would leave, simply because they got used to Schembechler for a long time.

Anyhow....I like O'Brien much, much more than the list that anti put up.

Urban Meyer.
