Just read on KSR

John Hale, of the C. J., is the one who reported the bad news.

The guy linked below isn't a Stoops guy, and I have no idea if he is being considered, but he was @ Miami U at the same time as Gran & Thomas. He has NFL experience and he has coached at a very high level HS program in Florida. Might be an interesting hire. He may not want to leave S Florida, but he would get a huge pay increase if he did & he would have an opportunity to coach some quality DB's in the SEC.

Check out the link...

A couple years down the road, Reed will have coaching experience in the NFL, and Lord knows if we'll still have our as-of-yet decided DB coach. If Reed wants to rise in the NCAA ranks before going back into the NFL, UK could be a good fit to start out as a Secondary coach and later as a DC, maybe even move around schools and become a HC before heading back into the NFL. Purely speculation, and not at all likely, IMO. Stoops has pull with this guy, but I doubt he has THAT much pull.

Maybe Reed wants the NFL opportunity over college. Several years ago there were rumors of a UK connection to Mike Shanahan but he supposedly made it clear he wasn't interested in any college job. One reason given was he didn't want to recruit. Some guys don't like kissing the *** of 17/18 y/os and having their future in a bunch of teen's hands. Who can blame them?
