Glad to see you believe yourself to be familiar with the inner workings of KSR. Unfortunately you are incorrect. I review none of the daily work on the site before its posted now and instead leave it up to Drew and Tyler who I trust as the Editors. In this case, I didnt see the tweet or post before it was posted but I totally support them acknowledging it. The comment drew boos and was by a coach at a Womens Clinic. It is worth noting.
You can't have it both ways....either its no big deal or "KSR always posts things that are negative." IT can't be both. If its no big deal, then its not negative. If it is negative, then you acknowledge its a deal.
My opinion (which is worth no more than anyone else's) is that Gran made a mistake with the joke, made even worse by the audience. Some in the audience didnt mind and some really didnt like it. Knowing that possibility, an event designed to grow football interest for women was probably a poor place to say it. It isn't however (in my view) a massive deal but rather a simple mistake
One last thing about people who get upset and say "lighten up" about jokes that offend others. If you truly take the position that nothing should offend, then I can respect that and in some ways I agree with you. People do get to offended easily in my view now so there is validity to that point. But often the same people who say "lighten up" get very offended when the butt of the joke is a group of viewpoint that they happen to be a part of. I often see the same people who say lighten up get REALLY mad at me for a comment I may make (like a joke at the expense of UK FB in the case of the commenter above). Either you think people shouldn't get offended or you don't...its kind of hypocritical to tell others not to get offended, when the jokes that hit close to home to you make you mad.
Hopefully we win 6 and make a bowl and no one even remembers this ever happened
